Occasionally I get these raised areas on my lower back, usually along the spine. They kind of itch, but feel like a bruise when touched...its not directly on the spine, just right next to it on either side. I'm not in pain unless I press on the area. I plan on going to the Dr., I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this kinda thing or knows wtf is causing it.Thanks :)
Answer:
Inflammation! Sounds like you are pulling the muscles in the back doing something and they are getting inflamed, hence the pain when you press.

Low urine osmolarity indicates a reduced glomerular filtration rate (GFR)? I am confused!?
Above statement is from my textbook. But my understanding is different. GFR is the volume of fluid filtered by the glomerulus per unit time. I believed that if your blood pressure was high your GFR was high indicating more filtrate, moving more quickly through renal tubules, therefore less time to reabsorb water, therefore more water in filtrate, therefore a low urine osmolarity. My books provide me with an unclear understanding because I am obviously wrong in my thinking. Can someone please clarify?
Answer:
I'm no expert, but in a healthy person, the GFR is really very constant due to regulation mechanisms etc. A reduction in GFR accompanies disease, e.g. glomerular admage, obstruction, decreased renal blood flow and so with this comes a decreased ability to get rid of waste material and regulate volume. So in fact when you get a decreased GFR you get a rise in plasma urea %26/or creatinine.
Like with diseases such as chronic renal failure, or diabetes insipidus, the impairment of concentrating ability requires higher volume of urine output for the same daily solute output.Im sorry if i've confused you more! But hope it helps a little.

6. SEAVE THAT COVER EARS OR lONG HAiRHOPE iT HElPS
Hey! I've got all those problems (except big ears), but I don't feel ugly :(
-Oily Skin can't be helped, Pimples can
-Wrinkles can't disappear but can be helped, Darkness can be helped
-Thick Hair can be helped, Oily hair can be dealt with
- No haircut can make a Big Face and Big Nose look smaller. Most importantly the hair cut must accentuate the shape of your face.
- Tans can be had from a bottle
- Big Ears can be hidden with long hair.
ask God for a whole new body
1. Proactive, it really works
2. Drink plenty of water and sleep. 8 glasses and 8 hours a day.
3. Pert shampoo is excellent for oily hair, it is the only thing I have found. It keeps oil away the whole day. Just make sure you shampoo daily.
Get a haircut where they use a razor and thin it out for you. Go to a good salon. It is worth it, a good cut is so important and you have to live with it everyday so you don't want some amatuer messing it up.
4. Something with body and fullness. It really depends on the shape of your face, the hair stylist is trained in this area so they are perfect to ask them what would look best on you.
5. You could use a lotion like banana boat that has a gradual tanner in it. Stay out of the sun unless you use sunscreen. The sun damages your skin.
6. A hair cut can do wonders to hide your ears if you are not comfortable with them.Good luck!
Oily skin can be a pain, but you can be rid of it. Buy Burt's Bees oil tissues, and with one wipe, it removes all the gross shine from your face.

Low grade fever?
When I was a kid, I had fevers that would get up to around 101 to 103...now when I get sick my temp falls to the lower temps...like starts dropping below 98.6...why is that?
Answer:
A low grade fever falls in the temperature range of 99.6-101.5 ((this is an estimate)). 98.6 is normal body temperature, and is not considered a fever. In order to be considered any type of a fever, the degree needs to be one full degree above normal - So 99.6 is the lowest degree of a fever. And "low grade" means that it is in the lower end of the fever category - the end that is typically not too dangerous.
So, when you are sick now, and your temp is 98.6 - it just means that you don't have a fever - in fact your temperature is perfect. So, you may still be sick, but a fever is not one of your symptoms.
Be glad - those higher temps can be very dangerous!
Hope this helps!

Low fluxtine levels in blood?
Answer:
The level in your blood will depend on your dosage of Prozac. What exactly are you asking?Paramedic in SC
who yours or mine
Not sure what you're asking. Fluxtine is a common name for drug called fluoxetine used as an anti-depressant. Is that the one?
what is the question
Low blood Pressure?
I'm 24 and have mitral valve prolapse. I take a beta blocker before I exercise since my heart rate gets really high. I jog at least 4 times a week for 60 minutes. Today, at my doctor, my blood pressure was 96/65. What is the normal range for someone healthy and active at my age? Is there something I can do besides uping my sodium to have a more normal blood pressure? I have been really tired lately, I think due to this. Any help would be fabulous :)
Answer:
Optimal is 120/80.One question I have is, what is your diet like? From what I read on MVP is that it can be signs of a weaker heart. Symptoms may include heart futter and heart palpitations, this could be signs of a magnesium deficiency.Magnesium and other vitamins and minerals are necessary for a healthy heart. If you lack these vitamins and minerls from your diet, your heart can tell you in these ways. There are also food substances that you should avoid because they may damage the heart or impede heart rate. These can include substances like MSG (Monosodium Glutamate).MSG may cause heart palpitations and headaches.Caffeine can cause fluctuations in heart rate, especially if you have it on an empty stomach.Aspartame (Nutrasweet) can also cause irregular heart beats.I would definitely suggest taking a magnesium supplement, as it regulates your heart rhythm. I used to have heart palpitations occasionally, but haven't lately after I started taking magnesium in a supplement.Potassium is another often overlooked mineral that people can easily not get enough of. You need about twice as much potassium as sodium, or about 4000 mgs, give or take for your own body weight. Patassium is found in fruits, fruit juices (like orange and grape juice), and baked potatoes.Again, I too sometimes had a high heart when exercising, and had an irregular heart beat on occasion. The bottom line I suggest is to increase your magnesium intake and avoid caffeine and artificial sweeteners.
Do you take a beta blocker only before exercising? Or do you take it everyday?Beta blockers also reduce blood pressure, in addition to slowing down the heart.Since you are athletic and jog a lot, it is common for athletic people to have low blood pressures and low pulses. However, you also have mitral valve prolapse. Usually, it tends to not be symptomatic in young people. I don't think the low blood pressure is due to your prolapse, but you might want to go to the doctor just to check. If you are a thin and atheltic person, you will have a low blood pressure.
Drink more water. It increases your blood volume and raises your blood pressure.
If you are not having any symptoms of low pressure
being Dizzy or light headed when standing up and if your Dr is not concerned it is OKWhat your pressure is just on the low side of acceptable of normal
100/60 is considered normal on the low side but normalIf it continues to drop then they might do something but please do not increase your salt intake it is so bad for you to take more than you need.Salt is good for preventing dehydration so you need some when you are running but do not over do it

Low blood pressure , what can you take for it?
Answer:
Drink alot (if you don't have a health problem that requires fluid restriction)
Try eating a small amount of salt just make sure you monitor your B/P.
It's hard to get, but I take Hawthorne Berry, Digitalis and Garlic. It works for me.
salt i also have low bp and they told me lots of salt like chips etc things with high sodium and to elevate you legs above ur heart
try eating more salt.. but you should really go to the doctors
Usually common salt intake raises the blood pressure but you have to find out the cause for the low blood pressure. Consult your doctor before you increase the salt intake.Common Causes of Low Blood Pressure路Dehydration (due to sweating and/or diarrhea)

Chew well and drink the water also.Tips 2:Soak 7 almonds in water over night. Peel them and grind to a smooth paste. Add in a glass of milk and boil. Drink warm.Tips 3:Crush 10-15 holy basil leaves (tulsi) and strain through a clean muslin cloth. Mix with 1 tsp honey. Have it the first thing in the morning.
my Dr keeps telling me mine is OK and it has been as low as 90 over 38 and I didn't feel different ,but was concerned about it=he just said he wants it low because of the type of heart problem I have
Low blood pressure that doesn't cause signs or symptoms rarely requires treatment. In symptomatic cases, the appropriate therapy depends on the underlying cause, and doctors usually try to address the primary health problem 鈥?dehydration, heart failure, diabetes or hypothyroidism, for example 鈥?rather than low blood pressure itself. When hypotension is drug-induced, treatment usually involves changing the dose of the medication or stopping it entirely. If it's not clear what's causing hypotension or no effective treatment exists, the goal is to raise your blood pressure and reduce signs and symptoms. Depending on your age, health status and the type of hypotension you have, this may be accomplished in several ways:Increased salt intake. Experts usually recommend limiting the amount of salt in your diet because sodium can raise blood pressure, sometimes dramatically. But for people with low blood pressure, that can be a good thing. Still, it's not quite as simple as dousing your salads with one of the new designer salts such as fleur de sel. Because excess sodium can lead to heart failure, especially in older adults, it's important to check with your doctor before upping your salt intake. Increased water. Although nearly everyone can benefit from drinking more water, this is especially true of people with low blood pressure. Fluids increase blood volume and help prevent dehydration, both of which are important in treating hypotension. Compression stockings. The same elastic stockings and leotards commonly used to relieve the pain, swelling, and blood stagnation of varicose veins may help reduce the pooling of blood in your legs. Medications. Doctors traditionally have used the drug midodrine to raise standing blood pressure levels in people with orthostatic hypotension. But many of those people have high blood pressure when sitting or lying down and at night, when blood pressure typically declines. In addition to increasing standing blood pressure, midodrine also raises already-high supine pressure, leading to the possibility of strokes. Now it appears that another drug, pyridostigmine (Mestinon), increases standing blood pressure without affecting supine pressure.
If you are not having symptoms, why worry/ If you are, stay well hydrated, increase your sodium intake, avoid hot showers or hot tubs. If you feel dizzy, bear down as in having a BM, this is called a valsalva maneuver and will increase your BP. If you feel really lightheaded, lay down, elevate your feet above your heart. Having low blood pressure can be a bother, but you are better off than having high BP. If you have a small body are under weight your pressure will be low.
Most people have already said the same but I eat salt when I start getting lightheaded b/c of my low blood pressure. Another thing that my neurologist recommended is Gatorade.
Low blood count?
my mother had her usual blood test yesterday. this morning she got a call from the hospital saying that her blood count was low enough for her to come in and get it checked out. we was all alittle shook up , especially her. shes gonna be in the hospital for a few days. her count went up while she was there. she didnt seem to show any kind of symptoms of anything serious lately. is this a serious situation or is it just a matter of the hospital getting her count back up ?
Answer:
The blood caries oxygen to the cells of the body. the less blood cells in the blood, the less oxygen can be carried around. This is information from a respiratory point of view. There are also issues with nutrients but I don't know them that well.
Sometimes infections cause that. She may also be anemic, in which case, they might suggest iron supplements and some modifications to her diet. If they succeeded in getting her count to go up, they probably have some idea as to how she can maintain it and that is a good thing.
what type of low count? Hemoglobin, hematocrit, glucose, platelet.? There are a number of things that can be low that may require additional attention from the doctors. If she has a low hematocrit - she may have anemia, which is when there are low levels of hemoglobin in the blood (these are molecules that carry iron and oxygen throughout you body). There are several types of anemia and it can be caused by a lot of different things (medication, infections, disease etc...). If she has a low white blood count - she may have an infection. This could be serious situation for her, since they're keeping her in the hospital I would assume there may be something wrong. If you have anymore questions post an update and I'll check back later to see if I can help in any way

Low blood count advice?
a friend has just been told that there blood count has dropped so low that they may need a blood transfusion. The only symptons that they have been feeling are headaches and feeling tired! Does anyone know what could cause this they are going for tests this week but are worried sick!
Answer:
there are many reasons why so please wait for the results of the tests.
I'm assuming that you maybe mean an iron/red blood cell count and not a blood sugar? Don't panic - I know it's worrying when people are sick but lots of things can cause this and most aren't serious. I had v bad anaemia last year cos of tablets I was taking for headaches - it was horrible at the time but got better v quickly. She should feel much better a couple of days after the transfusion. The dr will check for possible causes and treat that if necessary - most causes are easily treated so don't worry at this stage. Hope your friend does get better soon xxx
The headache and tiredness are symptoms of low HG. Your friend is not seeing a hematologist, they really need to see one. I am assuming that s/he has been tested for bleeding. It is possible the problem is heredirary, but your friend needs to get specialist help and pronto
Its more like your friend is suffering from low hemoglobin levels. Hemoglobinis the protein that carries oxygen in the blood. It is contained in red blood cells. Both high and low hemoglobin counts indicate defects in the balance of red blood cells in the blood, and may indicate disease.Anemia happens when your blood doesn't have enough hemoglobin. Hemoglobin helps red blood cells carry oxygen from your lungs to all parts of your body thus the reason why your friend is not feeling that brilliant.Iron deficiency anemia is the most common type of anemia. This happens when you don't have enough iron in your body. You need iron to make hemoglobin. This can happen when you lose blood from problems like heavy periods, ulcers, colon polyps, or colon cancer. A diet that doesn't have enough iron in it can also cause iron deficiency anemia. Pregnancy can also cause iron deficiency anemia if there's not enough iron for the mother and fetus. Certain diseases can hurt the body's ability to make red blood cells. For example, people with kidney disease, especially those getting dialysis (takes out wastes from your blood if your kidneys can't), are at higher risk for developing anemia. Their kidneys can't create enough hormones to make blood cells, and iron is lost in dialysis. If your friend have a blood disease in his/her family, there is a higher risk that he/she will also have this disease. One type of inherited blood disease is sickle cell anemia. Instead of having normal red blood cells that move through blood vessels easily, sickle cells are hard and have a curved edge. These cells cannot squeeze through small blood vessels and block the organs from getting blood. The body destroys sickle red cells quickly, but it can't make new red blood cells fast enough. This causes anemia. Another inherited blood disease is thalassemia. It happens when the body is missing certain genes or when variant (different from normal) genes are passed down from parents that affect how the body makes hemoglobin.
Another cause is Aplastic anemia. This rare problem happens when your body doesn't make enough red blood cells. Since this affects the white blood cells too, there is a higher risk for infections and bleeding that can't be stopped.

Loud sudden scratchy heart beat. What is it? what should i do?
Yesterday i took the SAT, which is a exam used for college admission. I was nervous and anxious and the test lasted for about four hours. That night i took a light walk that did not cause me to become out of breath or tired. Half an hour after i came home and layed down and felt a jabbing pain into my heart. This has happened to me before and it goes away on its own if i stretch or something. However, the pain got much worse in 20 minutes. Breathing too deeply in hurt and making large movements made the jabbing pain worse. I was sitting and i heard my heart was very audible from sitting. People from a few feet away could hear it too. It had a rhythem and sounded like a wet-scratchy noise. I went to bed and would wake up in the middle of the night from the noise. The position i was sleeping in created or stopped the noise. Sleeping on my left side stopped me from breathing in too deeply and created the noise. Making sudden movements or stretching makes the jabbing pain. Im 16 years old.
Answer:
Probably nerves and stress. However, worrying about this will make it worse so see a cardiologist and find out for sure.
Take ECG and consult a cardiologist now itself.
I think you are under stress, if it comes back try to caugh, but I think you should have it cheked by your doctor, and I would like to know what he will say to you, good luck
Why someone would tell you they could hear your heart from across the room is beyond me unless they have bionic hearing - it is just not possible. You, however can "hear" it because of blood flow and your many pulse sites. What you describe sounds like it came on from anxiety possibly mixed with a bit of indigestion also from anxiety. It is wise to see your doctor non the less. If it is just anxiety you will want to get it under control before beginning college any how.
Don't mess around when it comes to the heart...no matter what age you are! Please get it checked out by a specialist.
I would go see a Doctor immediately, those are signs that there is something wrong, don't sit on it and wait.. get to a doctor immediately, if it happens again get to emergency at once. Have them run an EKG.
see a doctor as soon as possible...don,t count on it to go away.may be serious.

Lou Gehrig's Disease?
Hi. My grandmother was diagnosed with ALS a little over 2 years ago and I know that the life expectancy rate is 2-5 years is there a possiblilty that she will live longer than expected (shes only 59)
Answer:
Unfortunately, the progression of ALS is fairly predictable. There are a few cases of recovery from ALS or slower progression than normal (Steven Hawking comes to mind), but these are often cases where the diagnosis is debatable. There has been a new medication approved by the FDA that may slow down progression by a few months, but as yet there is no other specific treatment.Bear in mind, however, that death usually results from complications due to inadequate breathing, specifically pneumonia. Although the progression of symptoms is consistent, whether someone gets pneumonia is obviously less predictable, and as such, is care is taken with her breathing (i.e. assistive ventilators, good hygeine), it might help her live longer.Best wishes, and i will keep you family in my thoughts.
Life expectancy is calculated on Patients age, diagnosed age, date to time of death date. However we may all have the same conditions, but that does not come with a time of death. Yes a good chance she will live longer than expected and I would enjoy having her around, as she might just get run over tomorrow, so much for life expectancy rates.

Lotion for dry skin?
I have very dry skin and i need some good mosituizing lotion. If you have any ideas please say so. thanks
Answer:
Your skin is probably dry becuase of the climate. The water too has a part to play, especially if you are getting hard water . Keep drinking lots of water. Apply body oil to your skin instead of moisturiser. Always apply oil/moisturiser when your skin is still damp after a shower, as this locks in the moisture. Use another richer moisturiser, suitable for dry skin. You could also apply day-old malai to your face, as this is very moisturising. Do this at least once a day. Wash your face with this malai or with day-old curd.
This is what i need also lets see what people offer us
get Aveeno products. they are not to pricey and they work great
St. Ives Whipped Silk. it makes your skin feel so so so good and it doesnt make it oily at all. just really soft
I get very dry skin easily so I use Keri lotion, been using it almost all my life, works wonders for me. Other lotions don't moisturize my skin the way I need it to, but Keri does the job.
i have sensitive dry skin...i use johnson's baby lotion...it works pretty well.but i also use johnson's body wash...regular soap makes my skin drier
You could always make your own out of regular lotion (I use Kiss My Face Lotion), olive oil, and Aloe Vera gel. That should relieve your dry skin.
Eucerin! My son has dry skin to the point of having eczema and his pediatrician recommended Eucerin. Also, make sure not to take showers/baths that are too hot.
The best lotions I've used are St. Ives (just about any, they are all virtually the same), Suave Oatmeal lotion, and Vaseline Advanced Healing. Try to stay away from cocoa butter or any lotion with a yellow or brown dye... it'll dye your skin that color and it looks really icky.
my skin crax in the summer
to heal i use 100% aloe
out of the shower %26 before i sleep--baby lotion
short term/right now!--"tahiti sweetie" from one of those body lotion mall stores (cuz it smells like candy)
sun block--olay spf15/moisturizer
i heard oil of olay "7X" rocks %26 it's $20 /bottle, not $100
One good tip is when you get out of the shower, DON'T dry off completely, apply a body oil and then a moisturizing lotion.
Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at

Losing weight and feeling weak with interstitial cystitis?
I was diagnosed with IC about 3 months ago. my doctor has given me
elmiron and told me to stay on a strict IC diet. I am having trouble
because I have lost 12 pounds and continue losing. I dont know what
to eat anymore. i cannot find hardly any recipes (even IC specific
recipes) that stick to the diet. also my whole family has a milk
allergy so that makes it more difficult. I feel weak and tired all
the time. I'm told to avoid foods high in potassium, but what counts
as high in potassium? right now i'm really not getting any. what
about vitamin c, none of that either, ive heard ester c may be
tolerated ? also vitamin b, is it ok to have the individual b's and
not the complex?
I am so weak and tired all the time because of this diet. I hardly
eat anything. plus with taking the elmiron you have to wait 2 hours
after you eat to take it and then after you take it you have to wait 1
hour to eat, sot that pretty much leaves out snacking on anything,
also if you factor in that i am a stay at home mom with two very
active little ones (both under 3) there isnt much time to eat anyway.
I would appreciate any information you could give me. thank yo so
much for your time.
Answer:
ill do my best to pray for you, hopping you recover soon, any good result please let us know,Thank you.
I had IC for thirty years. I know that you will get a recommended diet, but when it comes right down to it, you can figure out what you can and what you can't eat.
I am not sure why they are telling you to avoid milk. Try lactaid milk. See how that works for you.I would say take their guidlines but definatly figure out what you can and can't eat. Everyone with this disease has different restrictions.Take good care of yourself. If you are weak from the diet then you arn't getting enough nutrition.I think their diet is a suggestion not an absulte must. If your doctor insists on you sticking to the diet, then you need to let him know how difficult things are for you. When it comes right down to it we are all responsible for our own care.
I am sorry u have IC. I was diagnosed with it too more than 5 years ago and living with it. I think u should keep a food diary and test out what trigger in u the symptoms. It may not be food at all. It may just be with u are stressed out. I was on Elmiron also and I did not care to be on medication all my life. So I cut out Soda and caffeine in all forms, also I decided to fight it mentally. Now I know only when I get upset and stressed is when I get sick. I was symptom free for a while, but I got it back since I got married and since I got pregnant. Just try out the diary and to stay stress free. Just be thankfull it is not a worse illness. Check this websites for real people's stories with IC and for support. www.ichelp.org and www.ic-network.com
i am not sure if you belong to this website yet or not but sign up its free it has an online discussion board and the people there are really nice. I was diagnosed 3 years ago and I do not take elmiron it made me really sick I just watched what I ate and most importantly kept my stress level down.
Good evening Rachael
I am not sure if you are in my group. Here is the site.
You can eat chicken, fish, red meat. just check if they have other added ingredients. I love salmon
pototoes, broccoli, califlower, sweet potatoes, most all vegies as long as they are not acidic.
pears is first choice for me.
pasta is good, saute in olive oil with onions and garlic if they don't bother you. yummy
bake totals, some cereals, toast, pancakes, waffles, eggs,I hope I helped some.

Losing sense of smell - any way to help?
A close family member decided that she doesn't need to use deodorant. She says that her sweat doesn;t haev an odor. I think she is losing her sense of smell.
I tried everything. From telling her quitely on the side about her smell. I bought her deodorants on different occasions. Nothing helps.
Everytime she comes by for a visit I need to air the house out when she leaves. I also feel sorry for ehr because she is looking for a job, and she is goig from one onterview to another and never gets any position. I think it has to do with the fact that people cannot take the smell.
Is there a way to retreive a person's sense of smell. Or make it sharper? Even for a little while?
Answer:
Sometimes people just don't smell their own scent, we get so used to it, because we smell ourselves day in and day out,
just tell her that...tell her to ask other peoples opinions, and then her's might change.
People cannot smell their own BO, unless they shove their face right in their pit - but even then they won't get anywhere near the full effect. The fact that she has such overwhelming BO, and is also going out of her way to avoid deodorant, is an indication that she has a serious issue with it.Most people wear deodorant as a precaution, but to actively disbelieve people around you about your own smell is definitely pointing to it being a mental issue rather than a nasal one.
You need an intervention , she will not smell her own, so you have to have many people at once to convince them
Loss of sense of smell is a lack of Zinc inn the diet .
But i dont think this is this ladies problem . I would say its passive aggression , she is trying to offend peole because she is angry and she knows one way to do this is to be socuially offensive , she also knows that most peole are too embarassed to tell someonr e they smell .Just come out and say it subtly does not work with these peole rember she is angry !!.
If all else persists do not be in her company at onne level this is what she wants from peole anyway

Looking for something to help me put eye drops in my eyes?
i am a big baby when it comes to eyedrops i always close my eyes. is there anything out there for big baby eye closers like me?
Answer:
YES! There are these cups you can get at the drugstore, I use one, it has a slot for the drop container to go in, and it fits over your eye, keeping it open, you squeeze, and Presto! The drop is perfectly in your eye, no mess! Cost me maybe $2
umm... hold your eyelids open with one hand and use the other to put the eyedrops in
i have contacts and am used to messing around with my eyes and dont have to hold them open anymore
I read about this in a magazine once. Lie down on your back (or just tilt your head back far enough), close your eyes and put eye drops right on the inner corners of your eyes (between your nose and your eye). Then you just blink the drops into your eyes. Hope that helps.
I agree. Nature designes us to react if anything goes near our eyes, yet modern rules says forget instinct %26 not blink!
Well, some of us stick with how we are designed, because... we have no choice!!!As a 'big baby' contact lens warer myself, I do know how you feel %26 what you are saying. I did not let anyone near my eyes %26 learned lens process with no intervention. I will not lt Optitions lift or flip my flesh for standard tests. I cant bare it.SO, as a big baby I have learned to cope an 'ology' to put in eye drops.
What I find works - looking.
What frightened me, uset me, scared me most was eye doctors surprising me.
When I knew presisly, exactly (basicaly - it was me acting), when I was in control of what was happening to my eye.. everything went ok.Psychology... unknown = fear.
Expected = expected.
Eyes - I expected to put drops in eye - drops in eye happened because i put them in, so I was happy i could do it. Sorted.
It was about seeing thr bottle %26 the drops %26 knowing what must happen. Knowing that other options involved pain %26 this option wa just a lark %26 pain free - perspective.
Put in perspective - seeing eye drops coming is a joy/blessing/luck/fortune.
If I let others do it - they will be mean %26 horrible %26 HURT ME!I choose how I feel.
Yes, I have an good solution. Lay flat on your back, on the floor, a bed/couch. Close your eyes. Drop the eyedrops onto the inner corners of your closed eyes. When you have added drops to both eyes, slowly open them. The drops just run right in. I do this for my kids, works like a charm.

Looking for something to diminish the appearance of a scar?
My dog took off running and caught me with his chain made of hard plastic and scraped/burned both my ankles. The scars are so dark and look awful! The next day did the same to my 5 year old daughter, which are even worse! Any suggestions?
Answer:
Try Mederma or Neosporin.
Vitamin E capsules -break them open and apply to scrapes and get rid of that f***ing dog.
Besides getting rid of that dog...Mederma is AWESOME! I saw results for a scar ( long, and down my shin!) in just two weeks! Follow directions!
Try Mederma. It's available anywhere w/o a prescription. There is a coupon on the web site that you can print out.
Scars lessen over time. I had surgery in January and I had a puffy, raised, red line from the incision. Since the incision closed I have made sure to rub cocoa butter or shea butter over the scar as part of my daily shower/lotion regime. It's slowly fading and it's not nearly as puffy. The doc said that massaging the skin near the wound would help tremendously as that removes dead skin and stimulates newer growth faster. Also, my friend swears by Mederma. She said it greatly reduced the scarring from a fall she took and even faded some scarring that was decades old.

Looking for information on the virus bellsposy?
paralize of parts of the face
Answer:
Try www.webmd.com for health related topics. For Bell's palsy, here's the direct link - http://www.webmd.com/brain/tc/bells-pals...
It is Bell's Palsy, and there are lots of web sites that discuss this condition.
It's Bell's Palsy. It's usually caused by a viral infection, but not necessarily of a specific virus. Essentially, a virus that you had an infection with before (sometimes years before) becomes reactivated due to a decreased immune response. Many of these viruses are found near nerve fibers. (That's why a reactivation of Varicella, the chicken pox virus, causes a rash in a stripe, it's just where that nerve is.)In the case of Bell's Palsy, a virus reactivates on a facial nerve. Facial nerves send signals from the brain to the facial muscle, so the virus paralyzes the nerve. In most cases it's temporary.
You might google Bell's Palsy. It's not necessarily a virus, it is cause by damage to the nerve that controls your face. This can be caused by many different things, or nothing in particular. It is not permanent, and will heal on its own. Here is a link to a good website on it.

Looking for Images of "Arthritic Nodules".?
Is there anyone here who may be able to direct me to a Net site where Arthritic Nodules can be viewed?I have an appt. with PCP to be sure I get the proper med. attention, and if I need to see a dermatologist this will be the quickest way to get an appt. Probably like most people would do, the big "C" is the first thing to come to mind and if this would be the case, the sooner the treatment the better. However, I had appointment with Pain Dr. today and I asked him for his opinion. Of course he can't be sure but he did not think it was"C". He talked of "Arthritic Nodules" for arthritis in elbows, which is where they are located. Yes I have had pain in my elbow but so far it hasn't been extreme. I first had symetric nodules, one on each arm by elbow. Now, the right arm one has disappeared and there are 3 on the left arm-just below elbow kind of in a straight line. But they don't hurt? Thanks for any support and direction I may be given.Noralyn

They could possibly be vein valves since they are straight in a row. I work with a doctor that has very large valves in his veins that look like marbles. He has dozens of them all over his arms.

Looking for home remedy for allergies, other than staying indoors, with the windows closed!?
Answer:
Why not try homeopathy. For example, if you are allergic to pollens, there is a remedy you can try called 'Mixed Pollens'. It's based on the theory that like cures like and a very tiny dose of the Mixed Pollens will kickstart your immune system to help fight the allergen naturally. You may need to consult a registered homeopath as he will be able to assess you and make sure you have the right remedy for you. It will help your general overall wellbeing.
Salt water nasal rinse.
Try chamomile tea; it supposed to work immediately and in long term as well. Currently I am trying to see if any other people share the same experience. Please try and leave your feedback. The link is also helpful.
Saline nose drops. Get plenty of exercise and rest. Sitting around is worst. Wear a face mask when out side during dusty or high pollen counts. Breathing the moist air helps too. Green tea and deep breathing exercises done daily early am . Chamomile teas and peppermint (even tho' they say don't use peppermint) and echinacea tea work wonders. Don't eat foods that have preservatives in them or fried foods- if you cook it at home it fills the air with impossible to breath smoke and grease.
I hear ya. I put the AC on today because I cannot deal with the pollen. I wish I could enjoy the nice day outside! :(This sounds weird, but when my allergies were REALLY bad yesterday I layed down with a wet washcloth on my face..lol...it worked! That's if your desperate I suppose (like i was yesterday until i got my allegra d rx refilled)Try some tea w/honey to calm an itchy/sore throat. drinks lots of water. That's all i can think of for home remedies!Feel better! I feel your pain!

Get yourself some evening primrose oil and take it everyday without fail. I started back in 1998 and after 20+ years of having Psoriasis it has almost cleared for the first time in my life. If I had only known sooner. Good Luck
You should find that eating turkey meat will help or taking triptophan suppliments. My son has psoriasis and also can't afford medications. He uses over the counter things like Hydorcortisone creams. He has the weeping type all over his arms, sometimes even inside his mouth, nose, and all.
Caster Oil is supposed to be good for that ...You use it like a hot oil treatment..Put a cap on and let it soak in for a while...
You can buy Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment (100% natural colloidal oatmeal.) It helps relieve the itching and smoothes the skin. It's not a 100% fool proof remedy, but it does help. You can get over the counter creams, but if you pick the wrong one it can worsen the condition. I have been suffering from psoriasis for years and have tried almost every cream out there. If your condition is also some sort of eczema you can aggravate the condition with over the counter products. This is my particular condition.
A couple of capfuls of cider vinegar in the bath works wonders.

Looking for good foods for Type 2 Diabetics, Any Suggestions?
I'm a type 2 Diabetic and I am interested in hearing from anyone that has any suggestions for good foods (meals, snacks, anything you can think of) that are good for us and good period. I know the usuals (Carrot Sticks and the Like). Just looking for some good suggestions.
Answer:
I follow the glycemic index when I am not sure what to eat. It helps me to know what foods will affect my blood sugar the most. You can find it here:http://www.diabetesnet.com/diabetes_food...I also avoid high carb foods, and eat a lot of fish and meat. I drink a lot of water and hot tea and love to indulge in some Diet Coke a couple of times a week. I only eat whole grain breads and pasta, and I still limit how much I consume. I eat a lot of fruit but I look on the GI chart to decide which ones are best. Vegetables are very important in my diet and I usually stick to the green ones (carrots and most white veggies are high in carbs) For snacks will have popcorn (on occasion), cheese or sugar free yogurt. I currently live in Morocco and there are not many sugar free items here, so I don't use them often. Most food is prepared fresh here daily and that is a HUGE help in controlling my diabetes. Foods that are processed tend to be loaded in carbs, sugar and salt, none of which I need. I hope I have helped at least a little... Best wishes.
A high-protein diet appears to lower blood glucose and improve overall glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Researchers observed the results after participants with type 2 diabetes followed a high-protein diet (30 percent of the diet came from protein) for five weeks. Blood sugar levels were lowered by 40 percent among the high-protein group. For the most part though it is a no-brainer that nearly all type 2 diabetics need to swap out their grains for other foods. However, some people will benefit from using protein for the substitution, while others will benefit from using more vegetable-only carbohydrates. Also, exercise is key!
Oatmeal is a great breakfast. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp cinnamon on it, and you won't miss the sweetener. Look over your foods list, your doc should have given you one. Especially at the fats: you can have more sour cream in one serving than you can butter, so sub sour cream for butter on baked potatoes. Rye bread is better than white for sandwiches. My favorite snack is carrots %26 celery dipped into salsa. Eat small meals, 5 or 6 times a day to help keep blood sugar levels even during the day. Low fat bean soups are great too.
You could also try order some cookbooks or magazines that are made just for diabetics. here are some websites that have diabetic recipesdiabetesplanner.com
diabeticgourmet.com
I have found one good way to cut down on carbs. I have found a brand of multi-grain tortillas that have 6 net grams of carbs per tortilla. I can't remember the brand name but the only place I have found them is at Sam's Club. Instead of making a sandwich I make a tortilla wrap. I can have two of them and it is considered to be one serving of carbs. If I made two sandwiches with bread it would be 4 servings of carbs.
Replacing white flour to whole grain is easy to do, and do a lot of wonder. Whole grain releases sugar slower over time, so will not dramatically increase blood sugar like white bread / pasta or white sugar. Try to step away from fried meat as well, since the frying bater is made of white flour. I think type 2 diabetic is lucky disease (sorry if I make you upset by this statement) since from now on you need to take care of yourself sincerely, you might get healthier than before!
Enjoy your healthy eating habit!! (Don't get stressed over food, that's very, very important)

i had a verry good face my skin was good . now it has lots of freckle in it i am using stillmens cream but still it is not working . please help me if any of u know good cream or treatment
Answer:
Freckles are small tan spots of melanin on the skin of people with fair complexions. Make a smooth paste of oatmeal powder and yogurt, apply on the freckles and leave for 20 minutes and wash with cold water. Check out http://useinfo-freckles.blogspot.com/... for more info.
You can get a product called Porcelana over the counter at most pharmacies. It should lighten the freckles. If your pharmacy doesn't have it, they should be able to order it.

Looking for biotech companies with medicine in a phrase experiences stage?

Answer:
There are several companies that are developing anti-cancer drugs. But they are generally specialized in one or the other cancer. For example, we work in collaboration with some small Italian companies which are developing anti-colon cancer drugs, as well as chemopreventive compounds. Is there a particular cancer you had in mind?
Do a search online ~ for pharmaceuticals ~ you should find some. You may have to call them directly to see what they have in phase 3. Not sure they tell you online where they are at in the process

Looking for any good info on gluten free dieting ...help. tired of feeling yucky !?
Answer:
Hi! I hope i can help. FIrst off, are you going gluten free to lose weight or because you think you may have Celiac Disease? I do NOT endorse going gluten free to lose weight if u do not medically need to. There was a ridicluous article in a magazine a few weeks ago spouting that idea and it's ludicrous.
That being said, if you do have Celiac Disease or think you have it, there are plenty of options and info!! First, to get diagnosed with CD, you need to be eating gluten regularly and see a doctor to run blood work.
They should test for:
Blood TestsA number of tests, sometimes collectively referred to as the Celiac Blood Panel, will aid the physician in diagnosis. The tests may include, but are not limited to: *
Serologic Tests 1. EMA (Immunoglobulin A anti-endomysium antibodies)
2. AGA (IgA anti-gliadin antibodies)
3. AGG (IgG anti-gliadin antibodies)
4. tTGA (IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase) * Tolerance or Measure of Digestion/Absorption Tests 1. Lactose tolerance test.
2. D-Xylose test. They may also do an endoscopy with biopsy whichi s the gold standard in diagnosing CD.Once you are diagnosed, there are a ton of things to eat! Tons of resources also! I'll just name a few for times sake!!First two great books:

When I was 12 I was in a coma for three weeks as a result of a disease called encephalitis. It is the swelling of the brain most likely to be caused by a mesquito carring the disease and complicated by severe depression caused by the passing of my mother six months earliers. I was just wondering if anyone has known or has had it themselves and if so have you had any complications or perminent side effects? I am now 27 but I still get horrible migraines and some sensitivity to light. When I had it I lost my memory, I had to relearn word association, how to read and even how to walk. I made a very long but good recovery but sometimes I find my short term memory not right or sometimes I wonder if I am having false memories, things I think happened but noone can tell me for sure. I haven't had a check up since I was 18 but at that time I had just lost my dad and not paying much attention. I can't remember what things if any could result from it in the future. Any help would be appreciated
Answer:
It sounds like you had a rough time as a teenager. I'm sorry for your losses. I haven't had encephalitis myself, but you can definitely have neurological problems after recovering from the infection. It might be a good idea to have a checkup, since it has been a while. A neurologist or infectious disease specialist would know more about what to expect, based on the particular virus that caused your encephalitis. Good luck, and I hope you can find some answers.

Looking for Anorexia/Bulimia/Cutting Statistics and whether the stats are up or down throughout the years.?
I need to know whether these disorders are increasing, or decreasing and by how much since.I guess around the 50's until the present. It has to be a good source, and I'm finding excellent sources, but nothing I can work with. I don't need a definition of the disorders, or how to look for them, I just need stats throughout these years.
Answer:
The problem with your question---have ED's and cutting increased over the years---is that we do not know exact numbers. It is likely that ED's and cutting are reported more frequently now than in past decades (beause they are more widely known, and there is slightly less shame associated with them than say, in the 1950's). That said, the # of cases reported today are still fairly low due to many people not reporting them...Here are some statistics from various credible sources. From The Renfrew Center:
Prevalence
* 0.5-1% of adolescents have anorexia nervosa
* 2-3% of adolescents have bulimia nervosaLifetime Prevalence
* 0.5-3.7% of females suffer from anorexia nervosa
* 1.1-4.2% of females suffer from bulimia nervosa
* 2-5% of males and females suffer from binge eating disorder
* 4.5% females, 0.4% males report bulimia in first year of college Source: APA Work Group on Eating Disorders, 2000
http://www.renfrewcenter.com/From the Academy of Eating Disorders:
路 Between 0.3-1 percent of young women have anorexia nervosa, which makes anorexia as common as autism
路 Around 1-3 percent of young women have bulimia nervosa
路 Around 3 percent of the population has binge eating disorder
路 Many more suffer from some, but not all, of the symptoms of anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa. Between 4 percent and 20 percent of young women practice unhealthy patterns of dieting, purging, and binge-eating.
http://www.aedweb.org/Cutting:
-A national (UK) survey of children and adolescents carried out in the community found that 5% of boys and 8% of girls aged 13-15 said that they had, at some time, tried to harm, hurt or kill themselves.
-A study carried out in schools found that 11% of girls and 3% of boys aged 15 and 16 anonymously reported they had harmed themselves in the previous year.
http://www.selfharm.org.uk/media/statist...Hope this helps. Good luck!
I'm sorry I can't be of much help, but one thing I do know (being a cutter myself) is that the statistics of how many people self injure is extremely hard to say. Since you probably already know, it can be very easy to hide for years and not everyone surveyed on the topic will tell the truth, therefore, no one ever knows for sure how many people do it.

Looking for a website that has information about Meniers and a new cure called Meritin. Anyone know it?
I know it was a medical website that listed a lot of other illinesses also.
Answer:
I have never heard of Meritin, some of the best treatment information on Meniere's Disease can be found on the following web sites: http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic308.I did an extensive online search too, and couldn't find anything, are you sure you spelled the treatment right? All though I checked similiar spellings also and did not find anything. The best place for information on the subject is the official web community found at: http://www.menieres.org/ they have a message board there, maybe you could post your question there and someone might have the answer. Good luck to you!
there are lots of websites on meniers disease.
I had a severe case of dizziness which was diagnosed as vertigo but wasn't really vertigo. It ws much more like menieres disease
the dr. performed surgery to correct the problem but to no avail.after a year of suffering and not being able to
work anymore, I went to an acupuncturist.I was healed within a few months and highly recommend seeing one.

Longitivity of Pilondial Sinus?
I am currently suffering a recurring Pilondial Sinus. The first was discovered in september last year and subsequently removed by incision and primary closure of the wound in january, resulting in a 4-5 inch scar between my butt cheeks. A second sinus is forming lower down (closer to my anus), and the scar from the initial surgery has started to breakdown.Has anyone out there experienced similar problems with Pilonidal Sinus and how long did it last before you experienced no recurrances?
Serious Answers only please.
Answer:
Hopefully this will be your 2nd and last one. I don't remember anyone having a recurrence of a pilonidal cyst a third time. Maybe read some reviews on the web to see how you can prevent them from returning.

Long shot, but has anyone here tried Nixoderm?
apparently it's only available in tropical countries and is advertised as a kind of miracle cure for any skin condition including eczema. I was wondering how effective it is on eczema / psoriasis as I know someone who suffers with this. Most sites I can find only have reviews for it's use on acne.
Answer:
I don't know if it can be used on eczema. My mom %26 my bro use Nixoderm on their acne. It's not a miracle though but it cleared my bro %26 mom complexion a bit. And it leaves dark spots as well as dry skin (it also stings). So, I wouldn't recommend it for eczema patients. For eczema, I would recommend ProEcza. You can request for a absolutely FREE sample. Go ahead! Request for a free sample %26 try it!
http://www.dermatechrx.com/eczema/?gclid...Good luck, Reniannen!
it works great on all kinds irritation but i have allergic dermatitis and it really quenches the fire and whelps
asad
Its a pretty boring mixture of Benzoic Acid 6% w/w, Salicylic Acid 2.5% w/w, Precipitated Sulphur 4.6%. rather less likely to work than most things you could buy in the chemist. If you are in trouble your GP will have plenty of tried, tested and recognised scientific options! this is a 40 year old quack remedy.

Long QT Syndrome?
I have Long QT Syndrome and need to know if I can take Prilosec OTC. Are there any other antacids I can take? I know I can take Pepcid AC, but it does nothing. My doctor used to prescribe Prevacid, which worked great, but UHC won鈥檛 cover it any longer. My acid reflux is so bad I will be going to the emergency room if I don鈥檛 get some relief soon.
Answer:
I found a great web site in regards to 'long qt' syndrome, I think I just typed it in web address. It had alot of info, along with meds to avoid.
You can call your doctors office and ask. Prilosec and Prevacid are the same class of drug (proton pump inhibitor) so it may be alright, but you should ALWAYS check with your doc first!
I don't think that it is advisable to jump to conclusions, you better see your doctor again and tell him your situation. He might place you on Prevacid, or he will refer you to a gastroenterologist. Meanwhile take yogurt, along with the other medication (cream free), it works wonders at times.
go to www.sads.org. you will see were it saids LINKS and go down until you see Drugs To Avoid ! That will be a List of medications not to take if you have LQT syndrome !! you can save the list or print it off most likely!!

Liver symptoms: help?
I have a nasty reoccurring bile taste in my mouth---I have swollen area in my side. I have had gallbladder removed. Liver enzymes only slightly elevated so dr does not want to persue that direction. Has anyone had these symptoms before? Thanks.
Answer:
Unfortunately a foul taste and abdominal pain could be a large list of conditions/disease/syndromes, or what-have-you. The fact that you gall bladder was removed (knowing why would help) makes me lean towards a possible infection; but you didn't mention the typical immune response to infection, fever etc. I would advise to get another blood test, hepatic health can change surprisingly rapidly despite what people have told me.
It seems that something is not right. Is there any way you can see another doctor and get another opinion? I hope you can find out what is going on and I hope you feel better soon.

Liver function re-test. Should I be worried?
I recently went for blood tests to check for anaemia, low glucose, thyroid problems and glandular fever. Fortunately I have none of these, the test picked up a current viral infection (which I am now recovering from). However, the nurse said I have to have a liver function re-test in 3 months time. I don't remember having a liver function test the first time round! My mum said this is what they do to test for glandular fever and that they need to make sure the virus has gone completely and not just lying dormant until my immune system is low again. Could she be right?
Answer:
They will have done the liver test from the same blood sample as when testing for anaemia, etc. If it was slightly raised then, it's normal practice to do another test later just to make sure that it's back to normal. I wouldn't worry :-)
First, I would ask to see the results from the first liver function tests. They can be elevated for many reasons, including a virus. They are probably just ensuring that once the virus is gone, your liver function returns to normal. But don't be afraid to ask your doctor for more information! You're entitled to know it since it IS your body we're talking about, right??
they want to rule out hepatitis-which is common in those who have mono. your liver can also be indicative of hepatitis c to which your "glandular fever" is misdiagnosed too.good luck!
Its perfectly normal to retest in three months time. If the liver enzymes are still high at that point then they will probably order some more tests and ask you detailed questions about anything in your life that might be causing (like a tea you drink, supplements you take, etc). Liver function is a standard test. If there is some sort of problem, like with your liver, than you want them to pick up on it earlier rather than later. Its just a simple blood test.

Liver Failure...?
How many pills and/or drinks would cause liver failure? My neighbor was taken to the ER this evening and her boyfriend said her liver was gone... that she may not live... what the heck would she have taken?
Answer:
Please see the web page for more details on Liver failure.
Ibuprofen can do a number on it...And I would say the regular pain medicines, Advil, Tylenol, Aleve. Large doses, though.
If she drinks undiluted spirits - then she can suffer alcohol poisoning, or pancreaitis - cheap wine will also do it. Depends on her weight and how much she had.
1000 mg of tylenol a day for 10 days straight will cause liver damage. Drinking alcohol with that will make it worse.
It certainly wasn't something she took tonight, it was what she has been taking for a long time...You dont just get liver failure all of a sudden, you have hardening of the liver and cirrosis before it fails... If you keep doing drugs and alcohol it will only make it worse, if you liver is not completely hard you can stop doing drugs and alcohol and your liver will usually regenerate and get healthy again on its own, but not if its liver failure... She should have stopped the partying a long time ago...
Tylenol (acetominophen) is very harmful to the liver; even a small overdose can cause major problems. It would have taken quite a lot of alcohol to cause failure immediately; however, if she is a long-term heavy drinker, then cirrhosis of the liver is certainly a possibility. There are many other possibilities, of course, but those are the first two that come to mind.
Prolonged alcohol use can often result in sclerosis of the liver.
Advanced sclerosis can cause liver failure, and can also cause other organs to fail.
MICHELLE,
BOTH MEDICINES AND ALCOHOL ARE METABOLIZED BY THE LIVER. TOO MUCH BOOZE AND/OR DRUGS COULD HAVE DONE THIS. CHANCES ARE SHE DRANK A LOT.

Liver disease/failure?
how much time does a women have to live when they have liver failure/disease?
Answer:
No one can tell you exactly how long a person
can live after liver failure/disease. The doctors
can take an estimated guess from what their
tests shows and the symptoms and conditions the patient may have. It gives them a general
idea.
Let me explain: the liver is usually a
non complaining organ and many people can
walk around not only looking healthy but
appear to be healthy never knowing they have
a liver problem. Most times, it isn't until the
liver can no longer perform the functions, it once
did, that people will develop symptoms of this
disease. The first symptom is usually the
skin and whites of the eyes turning yellow.
It is best to go outside in natural light to see
this, as being inside can mask the color.
There are many things that can cause liver
failure: drinking alcohol, being around toxic
chemicals, overdose or a reaction to drugs,
viral infections such as Hepatitis, heredity,
retaining too much iron or copper in the body,
metabolic disorders, etc.
Usually it starts out as inflammation of the
liver cells. This can be treated with medication
so the liver cells will heal. If not treated, it
can lead to death of the liver cells, known
as cirrhosis. Once cirrhosis develops, it
may be only in one part of the liver or it
could be throughout the liver. If it is
throughout the liver, the patient may go into
"Complete" liver failure faster. What is
the difference between liver failure and
complete liver failure? Liver failure means
that the liver is not functioning up to par.
Complete liver failure means that the liver
is no longer able to perform the functions
it once did to help the body continue to live.
The symptom that usually occurs first is the yellowing...this yellowing is known
as Jaundice...as the disease progresses,
fluid can start to build up in the abdomen...
this is known as Ascites and the legs and feet
may swell, known as Edema. A patient may
develop difficulty with their memory and
thinking also known as Encephalopathy.
Here is a link to learn more about the
what causes cirrhosis and its symptoms:
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases...If a person is in liver failure caused by cirrhosis,
they should consider now to be placed on
the transplant list. They will go through
testing, as the evaluation process, to be placed
on this list and this takes time.
This site here will explain about organ
transplant...http://www.unos.org/
This site here is a patients guide to see
about what all is involved in receiving a
transplant...it is a very good site:
http://www.surgery.usc.edu/divisions/hep...There is no cure for cirrhosis as yet, though
it is in research to develop one. Some people
will try clinical trials that are available.
Cirrhosis is a disease where scar tissue
develops inside the liver when the cells die...
this scar tissue causes the living cells to
become crowded out and block their
nourishment and oxygen they need to live and
then more cells die. It is a continuing process
that can be slowed, but not stopped.
Till they can someway find a way to remove
this scar tissue or keep it from forming...it
is unlikely they will find a cure for this disease.I hope this has been of some help to you
in understanding more about this.

Liver cancer what can i do to help?
My grandfather is eighyone years old. And 2 days ago he went to the hospital for health screening and the doc found a bump on his liver. more test were done and it is believed to be liver cancer. it should be in the second stage now. with some lumps at the intestines.
being a teenager. im feeling very scared and hopeless. what can i do? is there any cure? and how much longer does he have?
btw he is living in another country.
Answer:
The best thing to do is honor HIS wishes. You may want him to 'beat the illness.' He may feel that he's lived a full life and is 'ready to go,' Whatever anyone believes, any treatment decisions are about HIM. I need to preface that by saying that there are cultures in which children make decisions for elderly parents. It is also important to include him in discussions; unless he's abdicated a role in treatment, he needs to be included, to feel part of the family. There's probably nothing worse than feeling "there's an elephant in the room" and no one is talking about it.That having been said, you mentioned your feelings, too. They are real; and I don't think your grandfather would want you to hide them. If you can't talk to him, talk to your parents. If you see you grandfather, let him know your feelings; don't hide them, unless your parents are adamant about not talking with him. In my experience, it's cultural; since he's overseas,
try a completley raw food diet. eat nothing but what nature intended and drink only water.
I think this is something you need to discuss with your parents and your grandfather. His wishes need to be looked at first then everyone else has a need to consider under his.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (hepatoma) usually occurs in patients with cirrhosis and is common in areas where infection with hepatitis B and C viruses is prevalent. Symptoms and signs usually are nonspecific. Diagnosis is based on 伪鈥慺etoprotein (AFP) levels, imaging tests, and sometimes liver biopsy. Screening with periodic AFP measurement and ultrasound is sometimes recommended for high-risk patients. Prognosis is grim, but small localized tumors can sometimes be cured by surgical resection or liver transplantation.
tell him not to drink, and avoid lipids
I believe the doctor in charge would have offerred some solutions and treatments for your grandfather. It is going to be a painful process. You can help him and your family by reducing the exposure of toxic chemical in your family's daily lives starting from home.
Treatment is one thing, prevention is another. Anyway, there's no 100% sure of cancer will goes off.

After a few months, he feel very energtic %26 after a year, he doesnt need to clean his kidney anymore. His kidney can function on its own now.. Answer:
yes i heard if you apply in san benito county for housing you get it very quickly
a friend of mine applied and got it in 4 months.housing is awesome you will only have to pay a small amount of rent depending on how much money you have from ssi
You talk to a social worker in your area. They will know what resources are available.
I can understand your dilemma. I can also empathize
to a certain degree, because I also get S.S. due to a
disorder that has prevented me from holding down a
job for any long-term period of time.
My situation is different, though, because I'm a home
owner, here in Los Osos, CA. (The central coast.)
But what I can tell you, Shelly, after doing a bit of what
is known as "googling" for you, right after reading the
question you'd posed, is this: the San Jose area is
too expensive right now for anyone on a fixed/limited
income--mainly because it's part of the semi-infamous
Silicon Valley; the real estate market there is just not
going to have anything in your price-range. (You will
not be able to find an apartment for less than around
$1,200 per month.)
Because of your disability--which I can't say that I'm
familiar with--it would seem to me that perhaps what
might help is a change of pace; or, more accurrately,
a change of place. Have you ever considered other
areas? Not every place is as expensive as San Jose.
Only you can decide where else you might be comfort-
able, but I'd suggest that you give the matter a lot of
careful thought.
The first step would be to do some online research
yourself. Go to google.com and type into their search
engine: apartments+low income+CA
You'll be shown a list of websites that might just be very
helpful.Good luck, and take care of yourself.

Little tiny bumps that dont go away on legs and backs of arms? tried lotion and exfoliating. not a rash.?
not gross looking or like sick looking, just like tiny bumps that i cant get to go away. I'm going in the steam room, deeply exfoliating, and moisturizing, I don't shave my legs too often could that be it? ugh i just want softer skin!
Answer:
my daughter has this same problem. I can't remember what the doctor called it, but scrubbing and exfoliating will not help. It's an over abundance of cells around the hair follicles that cause the bumps. The doctor said for her to up her intake of Omega-3 which is basically Fish. She started taking fish oil capsules, and it seems to have helped. I'd try that.
Have you been sweating a lot? Maybe it's a heat rash.
i have bumps on the back of my arm too, i dunno what to do though?!!
my friend has those on the back of her thighs and cannot get them to go away either. maybe they will never go away, try to accept them they are only little bumps!
it's pimples. put a certain medicene on them. if it dosnet go away even with acne medicene see a doc.
You could be exfoliating too much and causing some irritation to your hair follicles. Try laying off the exfoliating for a bit and just moisturize.
Do you notice this only in winter? Sometimes it's just caused from dryness and lack of air and sun on the skin. See if you notice a difference in the summer and go from there.
it could be any 1 or a variety of skin conditions my mother does this even though i don't remember what it is called i know the dr. prescribes her visteril and it helps but she has to take it every day and she can only bath in dial or ivory soap and she uses aveeno lotion and sometimes the aveeno soak i hope this helps
i have those too. the doc. told me it was an allergic reaction
I have this exact thing on my arms and legs, although its not swollen like a spot i have found that it is a swollen hair root. Basically you wont get rid of it, but i use an exfoliating pummice pad from boots, only a cheap one, and exfoliate and use a very simple moisturiser. It definately works on my arms. Dont worry tho because they may be noticable to you but they arent to anyone else. Good luck!

Little confused?
I think I have a skin condition but I am not sure.
I have had moderatley bad dandruff for quite some time now. It has never been to bad. Lately though in this last year its gotten much worse. Thing is if I cut my hair short it seems to get allot better. Now if I go without shaving a few days the skin on my face will do the same thing that my scalps been doing. But as long as I keep my face shaved clean theres no problem. I think I have a skin condition but Im not sure. Any Ideas for treating this at home or is a dermatologist my only hope as of now.
Answer:
psoriasis
You have what is called mummy syndrome. You might want to buy a sarcophagus and mummify yourself. This will help.

Little Bumps on arms and legs??
Ok, i have these little bumps on the back of my arms and legs since i can remember. They are like little pimples but not... I'm quite embarrased by them sometimes, because they can be noticable. I really want clear, smooth skin on my arms and legs. Does anyone know what this is, or how I can get rid of them without going to a dermatoligist. I've tried lotions and such... anyone??
Answer:
Its called keratosis pilaris. Its not harmful but its not curable. It can be made less noticeable by better exfoliation and more moisture (but not by being too harsh to your skin.) The best lotions to use are chemical exfoliants from your dermatologist or AmLactin, which is now available at your pharmacy without a prescription- but its alot more expensive than normal lotions-about $27 for a decent bottle. If you use it every day-it makes it less noticeable-but I found it very difficult to stick to putting it on every morning and night. I will probably try it for a month before my wedding to help my arms before I wear a sleeveless dress, but its too much bother for day to day. Alot of people have it, so you are not alone.
I thought everyone had them, I do, as do my mum, sisters %26 kids

Liters of oxygen that must be given to a patient who has below 95% of oxygen saturation?
Answer:
Depends on a lot of factors... How low is the sat, what condition is the patient in, what is wrong the patient, wha is the history of the patient, is this O2 where the patient "normally lives" What oxygen administration adjunct are you using. At a minimum the patient should be places on 2L via nasal cannula. If using a venturi mask the minimum is 4L. If using a simple mask, minimum is 6L. If using a Non-ReBreathing mask the minimum is 12L if using a Bag-Valve mask, the minimum is 15L. If patient is intubated and on a transport vent, the minimum is 6L If the patient is on CPAP, 144L are delivered but the air is just oxygen enhanced.Hope this helps.
Normally oxygen is not used unless the 02 sats are at 90-92% or below. If someone is above 92% I would not apply oxygen unless I have a specific order to apply it for the 02 sats you are talking about.
probably only need 1-2L 02. Continuously monitor the sat and use the lowest amt of 02 needed to raise the sat.
Liters of oxygen for a patient who has collapsed?
a freiend of mine was rushed in the hospital, conscious, had difficulty breathing and had a painful stomach ache, she said that she's not given an oxygen though she's surrounded by nurses. how many L iters of O2 must she be given?please help
Answer:
oxygen is given at from 2 to 8 liters a minute depending on the need. It can be dangerous to give oxygen to some types of patients which may be why the nursing staff waited until they had more information before using oxygen. In current settings a pulse-ox meter is placed on the finger- that will give you the oxygen level of the blood. The staff will go more by that than by the patients report of difficulty breathing which can be caused by many other things than low oxygen
lam sure the surrounding nurses will know
One of the first things they do when someone is having trouble breathing is to check their oxygen saturation level. If her O2 sats were in the 90s, she didn't need oxygen.
Oxygen is a drug. All drugs have indications (need for drug) and side effects (hazards of giving the drug). If she had an indication for oxygen, they would have addressed it. Health care workers are very good at the ABCs of advanced life support. A is for Airway, B is for breathing, and C is for circulation. Indications for oxygen include but are not limited to
low oxygen saturation
possible MI (heart attack)
possible strokeI am sure if your friend needed oxygen (a drug) the staff would have given it to her.
