Answer:
Not all tumors are cancer.... you should talk to a plastic surgeon if you want it removed so you get a nice scar and not something that looks worse or makes you feel worse than you do now. Good Luck, and chances are no one notices its.
a motherf*cking tumor? i think your wrong, tumors are cancer... and u can get almost ne kindof surgery today.

Lip Piercings... do they leave scars?
Hi.. Im 17 and i convinced my mother to let me get my lip peirced the day after school lets out. I really want to get it done but Im scared Im going to have an ugly scar on my face if I decide to take it out like a year after or, if i have no choice to take it out for school or work... so if you could tell me how much of a scar it leaves that would be great, and if you want you can tell me how much it hurts to get it peirced. thanks! and yea this is a third time posting this because the typos i made were horrible %26gt;.%26lt;
Answer:
It depends on which lips you are talking about. Concerning the lips on your face, you can pick placement of the ring. If you put it on your lip, up by your nose, sure, that will leave a very visable scar. If you put it on the line that connects the lip to skin, where the two colors meet, and you do not pull on it or put big nails in the hole, then that scar will not be very noticable. You can also try ways of covering up the scar. For girls, lipstick. For guys, facial hair. As for the other lips, any peirceing can be mistaken for an STD. So beware.
if u decide to take it out there will only be a little whole just like in ur ears
http://galls.maniacpass.com/bigmoms/rpgb...if that doesnt scar you this willFOR LIFE!
Any piercing you remove will leave a scar. Everyone is different.
Don't do it. That looks nasty. Pierce something else like your belly button.
Yes it will leave a permant scar that looks sorta like a sunken in hole. in other words the scar sorta looks like its still pierced even though its healed over. It's not a super ugly scar but you will have a small scar if you decide to let it heal.

Lip gloss ----GLUTEN???
Polybutene, Octyldodecanol, Polyisobutene, Microcrystalline Wax, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Silica, Fragrance, Petrolatum, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Retinyl Palmitate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Red 6 Lake, Carmine, Red 7 Lake, Manganese Violet, Blue 1, Red 27, Yellow 6.could anyone tell me if any of these ingredents have GLUTEN in them !! thank you so much
Answer:
Gluten is the name of the insoluble protein in wheat. All breads made with wheat flour will have an amount of gluten in them already. Gluten is the substance that makes bread dough elastic. It is not in your lip gloss.
I am a sufferer of gluten sensitivity. I cannot have this at all and IF I do, I am sitting on the pot for quite some time.
But to answer your question...no...none of these ingredients have gluten in them. As the fellow answerer Isis put it...It is a protein created while mixing certain flours such as wheat, rye and barley.
You cannot create gluten from mixing parabens, or oils.
No, to my knowledge none of these contain gluten. If you have Celiac Disease or are avoiding gluten for another reason, you need to be familiar with the alternate names for gluten. I am posting the link to the "forbidden foods" list on celiac.com. Print it, carry it with u always. Read it when in doubt. It could be all the dyes and chemicals in here if you are having a reaction to the product. The easiest thing is to contact the company to be sure! Best of luck, Amy

Lingering effects of gout?
I recently had my first attack of gout on the big toe. It was probably the most excruciating pain ever for a whole weak. The foot eventually swelled up and anything that touched it felt like my toe was being torn apart. Well, its been 3 weeks now since the gout started to hit and the swelling is all but gone and most of the pain has disappeared. Unfortunately, it still feels weird. From time to time, there is a very minor slight throb around that area. And as of today, i still can't walk 100% normal. I can put weight on it but i can't walk in a normal fashion. There would be a slight tinge of pain everytime when the toe is completely bent when pushing off the foot to walk. Is this normal? Does it take this long to heal? Did the gout damage my joints or muscle tissue or something? Alot of references say that the gout disappears and everything feels back to normal. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer:
Pending your age, Gout will affect you for the length of time stated.
I have had it last much longer, even months.
NSAIDs work for a short period of time, but for longer term maintenance look at the following:Apple Cider Vinegar : 1 x tablespoon mixed with a table spoon of filtered water, make sure it is organic with "Mother" still in it , add honey to taste and take about an hour after a meal 3 times a day..this will regulate your pH levels and reduce them...clean your teeth also after using this as it stains..then after an attack reduce this to once a day.Drink Plenty of water ( filtered) 2 litres a day. This in its self can cease Gouty activity.Cherries ( eat 6 a day )Occasionally use Baking Soda ( small amounts only and not long term due to its salt content, 1 x teaspoon with a large glass of water only in the beginning of an attack ) Celery extract and celery oil blends. ( every day )
I use 3mg celery extract with 2 mls celery oil..always seek a medical opinion before starting any low purine diet or taking any herb or medicine.
check your medicines for side effects as there are many for any gout pills supplied by a doctor or health practitioner
You do not tell us what medications you are still on. An anti-inflammatory drug should be continued for a long period with anti-uric acid med.
I'm not answering your question but my husband is a pharmacist and people tell him that they eat 'cherries' and it helps. I'd try that. Don't know why it might work but it wouldn't hurt. I've heard canned mostly, but I'd try them all.
I have suffered from gout for the last 50 years. Most of the attacks I suffer now are brought on by my own doing ... one just cannot go thru life without an occasional beer, shellfish, red meat, and sweets. With all the medication I have taken, nothing has given me the relief of the 'baking soda cure'. You can easily find it on the net with the search words 'gout %26 baking soda'. For me, relief from the intense pain is literally minutes away after taking adose of soda. Hope this wroks as well for you.
You should start ASAP an anti uric acid medicine and take at least 2 l. water a day. If you do not treat your gout (and I do not mean the pain, I mean the uric acid) ,by a strict diet and anti uric medication you will get to the point that the cristals will start forming little spheres , bulging out of your toes' or metatarsic articulations. Your next bloodwork should include LDL, HDL and cholesterol count (the latter is probably through the roof) and an appropriate diet: no red meat, no seafood (fish is ok) no wine (least of all red), no beans etc.Only cooking with olive oil.It all depends on you

Limited mobility?
I had breast cancer and had 11 lymph nodes removed under my arm. Plus nerves, muscle and whatever. I have always been able to reach my back all of it. I can't now. Any tips on how to do without help. I can't use one of the brushes on a stick. I need to wash my back.
Answer:
I'm also a breast cancer survivor along with being a Pilates instructor. I recently had a simple mastectomy and had 5 lymph nodes removed. I am going through reconstruction and am having the same limitations in mobility. Due to the surgery, you will be stiff and sore from the procedure. If you are having problems with mobility, I suggest you talk with your surgeon - she/he should have given you some gentle stretching exercises that can be done to help you regain your range of motion. If you're really having problems, ask your surgeon to send you to a physical therapist. The worst thing you can do is NOT move as the muscles will atrophy and it will become even harder for you to move and regain your full range of motion. As far as washing your back, go to a store like Whole Foods - they have washing cloths that you can use that are long enough for you to take your good arm and put it behind your back, use your affected arm as an anchor on the lower part of your back and give yourself a good scrub.

Like 50 Mosquito Bites, please help!! ?
I have more than 50 mosquito bites on me, and the bites are huge literally, What can I Do to make them go away? Are there poison in my legs?Do my legs or body have a disease? Is there something wrong with my blood now in my legs? Thanks, please advice what to do for next time.
Answer:
im sure they r really itchy, but dont itch them. rub lightly around it or slap the area lightly, but dont scratch cuz it feels good for one second, then gets 10 times worse. if its really itchy buy a sunburn relieving gel with aloe vera and lidocaine...the lidocine will numb the skin a little n make things a bit more bearable. some people r just more allergic than others. u seem more attractive to them and more reactive as well. i have heard of extreme cases where people were made sick by being bitten, but that was with people left on islands without anyone to save them...i think u should b fine. i think it was like their blood was trying to all clot up from the high amount of mosquito toxin or whatever...take an aspirin, they thin the blood...see a doctor if it really is bad n u get like a fever or something.
first you need to go to the drug store and get some super-strong antibiotic cream. apply one dab to each bite every night, and if the areas are exposed all the time, put band-aids on them. after a few days, or in a couple of weeks in your case they should get better.
Take Benadryl and use Benadryl gel for insect bites. This will help the reaction you are having to the bites.
put rubbing alcohol on them it will stop itching
Go to the drug store and buy a small can of "Bag Balm", it comes in a small green can. It works great for all skin irritations.
well to stop the itch make a paste out of bakingsoda then if you feel sick go to the doctor. Next time put a couple original bounce dryer sheets in your pockets not used ones and they will stay away!!
If they are bigger than normal with swelling you may be having an allerigc reaction a dr would know best

Light red spots on the back of my upper arm?
I have these light spots on the back of my upper arm, they do not itch, they don't annoy me and most of the time I forget that their there. I've had them for a long time and I was wondering if anyone knew what they were.
Answer:
It's a skin condition called keratosis pilaris. Basically it is harmless, although exfoliation can help the appearance of your arms if you are concerned.
I have those too, does anyone kow how to get rid of them?
Go buy those gloves you can use as an exoliant (or a mit lufa) found in any drug store. Use pure and natural soaps and oils (nothing with mineral oils this harms skin actually not helps it)
You could also make your own sea salt scrub (I use one by Arbonne) by using olive oil, kosher salt and some brown sugar and rub on these every day.
In time they should fade and upkeep the exoliating every few days.

Life-threatening anaphylaxis?
Latex Natural rubber latex (NRL) has emerged over the last decade as an increasingly common trigger for anaphylaxis-producing allergies. It is found in a wide range of manufactured goods, including an estimated 40,000 common household items. Latex allergies now affect an estimated 1% to 6% of the U.S. population and the reasons for the increase in incidence can be attributed to biohazard precautions and manufacturing changes.1-3Latex allergy is an allergic sensitivity to the proteins in NRL that often worsens with each exposure, a phenomenon known as allergic sensitization. Allergic reactions to latex can range from moderate skin irritations to life-threatening anaphylaxis. You may be interested in learning more about latex allergies including information on variations in severity, who is at risk, and prevention and treatment.
Answer:
dont use it
or use antihistamine to attack the allergy back.
what is the real question??

Hello. My Mom had Hepatitis C. Im not sure how she got it, Im assuming drug use.
She still gets drunk every other day, she still occasionally uses heroine, and she is addicted to meth. She also smokes.
She's not being seen by a doctor, nor does she take medication.I was wondering how long someone can live if they have Hep. C, and still continue those "activities".Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Answer:
She's not going to last very long with all of this. Sorry to say. She needs to stop asap. But, Hepatitis C can kill you all on it's own, I think. I am again sorry that you are dealing with so much.
Its hard to say. Some people on drugs can last quite awhile without food, however; since she has hepatitis C that is a different story. I don't have any experience with this but my advice is to get her to a hospital. I know you don't want your mom to be in this situation. She really needs to be seen by a Dr. or some kind of health professional. If she protests you could always wait till she comes home after a binge and just call the paramedics.
You are powerless over her... Look up Alanon or Naranon meetings in your area. She might die soon because the lifestyle is violent.

LGSIL - Abnormal pap smear?
I had an abnormal pap smear - LGSIL the dr. called it. It is caused by HPV. Then, I had a colposcopy but the dr said everthing was fine. I just went for another pap this morning %26 the dr. doesn't seem very concerned abt anything. She said the pap is a screening test %26 since the colposcopy was fine, I'm ok. Does anyone know the chances of getting cancer if someone had an abnormal pap and hpv? According to the dr. 80% of women will have hpv at some point in their life but most just work it out in their system. Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions about this situation?
Answer:
This same exact thing happened to me, it ended up straightening itself out, and my paps and cells became normal. Although with me I was referred to a specialist and underwent even more tests, be glad that didn't happen to you, the colposcopy was painful enough. I think you'll be ok, good luck, hope this helps!
I know many women that have had this and are fine after many years. You are obligated to regular pap smears and checkups however.
just because your carrying HPV 4ever, doesnt mean that you will develop something more serious. if the doctor isnt too concerned it's because it came out negative. If you, however feel like your not being treated correctly then see someone else

Levothroid pills during pregnacy.. Child Development issues?
I was diagnosed with Hyperthroidism - 9 yrs ago (age 20) after the birth of my 1st child, I had the radiation treatment and my condition turned into hypothroidism. Currently I am on 175mcg daily of Levothroid. My levels were watched closely and adjusted accordingly when I became pregnant with my second child. He is now 6 yrs old, he is border line ADHD and having issues learning and focusing in school (along with behavior problems). Also has migraines, night terrors, and sleep walking. I wanted to know if anyone else had the same issues as I do with child development. It has to relate to the Levothroid pills or maybe the radiation treatment.? My 1st child is excelling in school and has highest honors. I don't want anyone to tell me they are different children, I feel my medicine has something to do with the development of my 2nd child. Please let me know your thoughts, is anyone else in the same boat as I am??
Answer:
I don't think it was your thyroid pills. I was on pretty hefty doses with all three of my kids. With the last one, I was up to 300 mcg a day. (My kids are all great students with normal behavior and sleep patterns.) The greater danger (when you're talking about hypothyroidism) is to leave it untreated and risk the baby developing a problem due to your out of whack thyroid. Thyroid replacement pills are in a safe for pregnancy class. Was the second baby born early? Sometimes premies will have developmental problems.was there any fetal distress during your labor or delivery? Another cause may be a food allergy or sensitivity. We have friends who had a child with similar problems. He is doing better now that they have found he has an allergy to gluten.Good luck to you and your little guy.

Leukoplakia?
Is leukoplakia is qurable or not??
Answer:
This is a good question. There are two important issues here. Firstly, there are a spectrum of changes in the lining of the throat, mouth or larynx, ranging from dysplasia, to carcinoma in situ, to microinvasive cancer and finally to deeply invasive cancer. All of these can be present in the white lesions that we call leukoplakia. Most of the time, biopsy of a leukoplakia or white lesion of the lining of the mouth, throat or larynx is done by a taking only a small portion of the white area. This means that the pathologist (the doctor who examines the tissue under the microscope) only can see a small portion of the lesion (since most of it is left in the patient). Therefore there could be a precancerous lesion or even a cancer in some other part of the specimen that is still in the patient. So, if the white lesion is entirely removable without causing the patient a significant problem with eating or speaking, then it may be advisable to recommend removing the whole thing so we know exactly what we are dealing with. If the final diagnosis is then benign, the patient should be followed every few months for recurrence and reexcision, which occurs occasionally. If on the other hand cancer is discovered in the lesion, then additional treatment can be recommended at that time. If the white lesion is too big to remove, it may be preferable to remove as much as possible, even with multiple excisions and perform small biopsies on the remaining portions of the lesion. The patient may then be followed closely looking for growth or change.
Treatment
The usual treatment for leukoplakia is to remove the source of the irritation. For most people, stopping smoking or alcohol consumption clears the condition. When this isn't effective or if the lesions show early signs of cancer, your dentist may choose to remove leukoplakic patches using a scalpel, a laser or an extremely cold probe that freezes and destroys cancer cells (cryoprobe).Follow-up is necessary after removal because recurrences are frequent. Doctors consider treatment sites remaining disease-free after three years to have healed.Researchers have investigated the effects of retinoids 鈥?derivatives of vitamin A that are used to treat severe acne and other skin conditions 鈥?on leukoplakia. Although they appear effective against leukoplakia, retinoids may cause side effects, even when used topically. Beta carotene, an antioxidant that's converted to vitamin A in your body, also may completely or partially reduce leukoplakic patches. Some research has also shown that vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) may shrink the lesions associated with leukoplakia. However, more research is needed.- they say there are meds out there oral and pills...
Hope this helps Maybe you should google it!

Leukemia....?
My family just found out that my grandma has Leukemia and i want to know if anyone knows a good website with information about it.
Answer:
I am sorry to hear about your grandma. http://www.lls.org/hm_llshttp://www.bdbiosciences.com/immunocytom...http://www.leukemia-research.org/...
aww sorry
try wikipedia.org
I don't know much about it
I hope she's ok
And love to the rest of your family and you x
Look on this website as it has alot of information on all types of cancers, what the signs and symptoms are, how it is treated and where you can find support.
www.cancerbackup.org.uk
I'm so sorry about your grandma's news.
Depending on the type, many people live out their normal life with it.
A good place to start for info is the Luke Foundation and the Mayo Clinic website.
Good luck.
The first site I listed is great for information, you can also do a yahoo search too.Find out what type of leukaemia your grandma has, there is Acute or Chronic types of myloide and lymphoblastic.
There are different types of leukemia, and yes, there are support groups out there for the patient, and their families and friends.Just 'google' the type of lukemia that she has, and you will find a list of groups that you can join.

Leukemia without bleeding but with bruising?
This is the third time Im posting this. Let me explain more deeply. I am doing a project on cancer for school, I have chosen to do leukemia. After researching leukemia, I noticed that I couldent find any information as to if it is possible to have bruising (Or petachea(spelling?)) as a side effect of leukemia, BUT not have excessive bleeding. In other words: Must one have both bruising as a symptom and excessive bleeding, or can you just have bruising (or petechae) with normal clotting response to cuts and wounds? Since low platlet levels cause the bruising, wouldent it take longer for ones wounds to heal (as leukemia can cause)? Thank you.
Answer:
You actually have a few different things going on here. The ability to stop bleeding (or form a clot) is the end result of three different systems in the body--the 2 clotting cascades (the coagulation pathway) and the platelets. Depending on what is getting effected with the leukemia; the amount and reason of the bleeding can vary; so it would be possible to have bruises and petecchiae without frank bleeding (although bleeding gums and nose bleeds may occur as well as oozing in the GI tract). Wound healing (actual filling in with tissue) is another set of body systems working together that are impaired due to a poor repair system/nutrition that leukemia induces. Platelets don't impact wound healing directly--they just form the plug that stops the bleeding. You have a big project because leukemia is a very complex set of cancers (there are multiple forms). Good luck
Bruising and petechea are both different types of bleeding under the skin. You know what a bruise looks like. Petechea normally looks like pin prick red spots just under the skin. I have both, but from a different disease.
Good luck on your project!
Here's where you'll find the best info and links for your research.

Leukemia children's hospital...dream come true?
anyone else ever stay at children's hospital in philadelphia? i was there in 1992-93 with leukemia...i was about 3...anyone else remember their days of almost dying if and when they were very young?
Answer:
Hello! First let me say to you that I am very happy to meet another leukemia survivor!!if you were there 13-14 years ago, that means you did good! Praise to God for that!! And, well, I am not a leukemia survivor like you but my son is. But he had his chemo at the Childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh, which is a wonderful place. So far he has been 8 months off chemotherapy and doing wonderfully. But answering to your question, I have noticed that my son tends to forget the hard times we lived when he was so sick. He was only 3, almost 4 when he was first diagnosed, right now he is almost 7 and even though he still remembers the painful procedures, all those sad memories are sliding in his mind into the past. I am the one who will never forget, but as for him, I just remind him of the important stuff, but I am glad to see him only focusing on the bright future that he has ahead. You should do the same honey, you fought a great battle back then, and yes, you were about to die, but God had a plan for you and that is why you are here. I don't know if you remember or not about the hard times; my advice to you is, keep in your heart the wisdom you got from it, because I know that after that experience you have become a better person, and God wanted you to have THAT EXPERIENCE as a part of you. Treasure all that wisdom and make it a part of your every day living, be thankful for the health that you have and pray for all of those who are not as lucky as you were; but leave behind the sadness and the pain. Just remember that God was there and will always be there for you. Maybe this is not the kind of answer you were expecting, but I just had to say that I am so happy that you made it so well after all these years. You are a fighter, you are a survivor, be very proud of yourself...

Leukaemia Help?
I work for the Anthony Nolan Trust. They help people with Leukaemia and I have to find donors. we need donors from ALL ethnic backgrounds and I need to know how I can achieve this via advertising or any ideas that you have really. Thank you so much
Answer:
Hi, I think what you are trying to do is really worthwhile, so well done to you.I worked within a health visiting team that specialised in working with the homeless last year, and alot of the clients were asylum seekers. Because of the nature of the job we needed to provide health related leaflets in a wide range of languages. We also used interpreters alot when visiting clients. This is really important, because even people who speak good english often have difficulty understanding medical imformation. We used the following sites alot to print off imformation for clients:http://www.multikulti.org.uk/http://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/...These sites are also used alot by people whose first language is not English, so it may be worthwhile contacting the site administrator and asking if they will run an article on what you do.You could also try contacting a translation service to see if they will help you produce leaflets in a range of languages. This site will also let you produce letters etc in range of languages:http://www.communicate-health.org.uk/car...This site is also useful as it gives details of agencies involved in working with ethnic minorities:http://www.raceforhealth.org/information...You could then contact local councils to see if they have an asylum seekers / refugee support project or similar, who may be willing to distribrute leaflets to clients on your behalf. It may also help to attend multicultural events, such as music festivals, fundraising days etc. My local council holds a music festival every year, and the health team I was working in attended this last year. We had a stand with health promotion related leaflets in a range of languages, games to play etc, and it was really successful.Best of luck, Mel.
In diabetes care we try to make leaflets available to all ethnic backgrounds by printing in diff languages and distributing through places like social work as well as the usual gps and hospitals. Hope that helps - I know how important the work of the trust is. xxx

Lemon juice for Acne?
if i apply the lemon juice on the parts were my acne is and if it like touches the skin around it will it lighten my skin also cus i dont want my skin to have white spots around it.
Answer:
Ouch! i think the acid in lemon juice would make sore pimples really sting! A more effective treatment might be honey: this is also antibacterial (thanks to the high sugar content and presence of hydrogen peroxide) but is much more gentle and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft. It also has a GENTLE lightening effect (great for red pimples and scars) which is again due to the peroxide and again makes your skin look more blemish-free.
Ingredients = -sugar-water-lemon juice
-1/2 sliced tomato
-baking soda-water
Instructions = *This is more of 4 step-process.It DEFINATELY DEEP cleanses, smoothes, and clears up my skin and i suggest it not for everyday use..kind of like when all else fails face tonic remedy.
1st~ add a handful of sugar,1tsp lemon juice and enough water to make a paste and massage onto face;when done rinse off with warm water.
2nd~ take 1/2 of tomato, cover entire face with it and leave juice on for about a minute and rinse with COld water.
3rd~ take 2 tbsp baking soda n mix with small amount of water to make paste and apply.leave on 4 15 min n rinse off with COLD water.don't do the tomato if you have sensitive skin.it tends to sting-though i have sensitive skin..and the slight stinging only means its working(how?..tomatoes clean skin by its acidity by loosening pores with agitation and cleaning them out.sugar scrubs off dead skin lemon juice helps and we all know about baking soda
PS-this does dry skin out so i imediately put either a THIN layer of oil free face lotion with no fragrance or a THIn layer of acne medication that moisturizes (Clearasil)
I do not think it will lighten your skin. You should try placing cucumbers on your faces--its great for blackheads and pimples. Also be sure to wash your face morning and night with a mild soap/cleanser. Check out http://www.realhomeremedies.com... for more acne tips.
try raw honey :)

Leg amputation due to bone infection?
what happens how long tO RECOVER
Answer:
It all depends on your immune system and how healthy you are. Did the bone infection result from a chronic wound or surgery? I think state of mind is also a big player in how fast you recover. My grandpa lost his foot two years ago and he was up and moving within 3 months. He used a product called Amerigel he said it helped keep infection at bay and increased the healing. Be careful of infection (staph), keep your wound clean. Staph can slow the healing cycle considerably. Good Luck!!
It would depend greatly on the person, their age and their personal health status. This would be best to ask the surgeon.
Osteomyelitis is inflammation and destruction of bone caused by bacteria, mycobacteria, or fungi. Common symptoms are localized bone pain and tenderness with constitutional symptoms (in acute osteomyelitis) or without constitutional symptoms (in chronic osteomyelitis). Diagnosis is by radiography and cultures. Treatment is with antibiotics and sometimes surgery.
The outlook is worse for chronic osteomyelitis, even with surgery. Amputation may be needed, especially in diabetics or other patients with poor blood circulation. The outlook is guarded in those who have an infection of a prosthesis.

Left side of face is numb.?
I'm 33, never had a heart attack or nothing like that. Last night my face starting feeling a little numb. Today it was really numb. Now the left side is all numb, can't close my left eye all the way, can't move my left ear(like how you can make both of them move), the left side of my mouth will not open all the way, it tilts towards the right side. And when I say words like spit, it comes out all funny sounding, like i am spitting.
Answer:
Its Bells Palsy. When I had it I went to the docs and he gave me steroid tablets and it was gone after a week.
For God sake, go to the emergency room!! You're having stroke symptoms and the longer you wait, the more damage it will do! Go now. Don't wait. You can't afford to! Don't drive yourself either! Call the squad or a friend, but GO!
maybe you should go to the hospital? or maybe make and appointment with your doctor...
Go to EMERGENCY at any hospital or emergency-care clinic now! If you are indeed having a stroke, there is only a short window of time (maybe 2 hrs.) in which the doctors will be able to reverse or minimize the affect.
There are more than 100 known causes of facial paralysis, such as Bell's Palsy. When we make facial expressions (such as smiling, frowning, and closing our eyes), the brain sends a signal to the muscles of our face through the pathway of the facial nerve (also known as the 7th cranial nerve). When there is a problem with this pathway, facial paralysis is the result.
Patients with facial palsy for which an underlying cause can be readily found are not generally considered to have Bell's palsy per se. These underlying problems include a tumor, meningitis, stroke, diabetes mellitus, head trauma and inflammatory diseases of the cranial nerves (sarcoidosis, brucellosis, etc.). Have you been recently diagnosed with Lyme's disease or Herpes simplex?
Sounds like Bell's Palsy, but, go to doctor just in case.
Please go to the hospital. These are signs of a stroke. I had a friend who suffered the same symptoms however she did recover. You should thank God right now, It could have been a lot worse!!
By allmeans do not wiggle those ears. turn to the left when you smile at someone and do not wink at a conclusive answer. But above all make an appointment to see your Doctor. NOW!

Left side facial PARALYSIS when flying?
My 14 yoa son left eye started twitching and
continued over the left side of his face.
Drooling.
Lasted about an hour while inflight.
Answer:
That sounds like the symptoms of a stroke or some sort of seizure. You should have your son checked out by a physician. It may be nothing, but it may possibly be a serious underlying condition (seizure, TIA (transient ischemic attack), tumor, etc). Please get it checked out...
it could be bells palsey...and in an extremely rare case the guy above me may be right- id talk to a dr about it

Left Flank Pain?
I've been hainvg left flank pains. It starts where my lower ribs end and toward my back. It hurts to take a deep breath in and take a complete breath out. I'm like gasping for air because my side hurts so much. It hurts when I stretch my left side and it hurts to lean toward my left flank. It just started hurting one day while I was doing homework. And later, I notice that my breathing wasn't good either; I'm like talking half-breath in and half-breath out. The pain spreads to where my spleen is and where my left kidney is to the back. It hurts to touch where my spleen is and where my left kidney is. And my left lower ribs are sore. I don't know why and I haven't reached any trauma to neither of my left flank nor ribs. I don't know what I should do. I can't find any reasons to why I am having these pains and I can't fix my posture to neither sides because it hurts. Please no mean answers to this. Thanks for all your guys' help because they are much appreciated. Sarah ^_^
Answer:
Your major concern is the difficulty you have breathing. This symptom could be a sign of respiratory illness such as pneumonia or infection. It is best to seek medical help and have x-rays of your chest and back.
Flank pain is also a sign of a kidney infection. Any trouble with pain or burning when urinating?
There are several things that could be causing your pain, and none are any fun.
Kidney stone, kidney infection, urinary tract infection, blockage in the ureters...
Ulcer, colitis, diverticulitis...
Pneumothorax...Pain like that needs a professional opinion. Please see your doctor or emergency room ASAP.
Read the "dehydration" website. 6-8 glasses of pure water is highly recommended for the body. Take 2 tbls. of heinz apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 3 x day for its 93 vitamins and minerals. Vinegar has cured my depression, anxiety, anger and has energized me. Ancient warriors drank vinegar to give them strength.
flank pain is related to kidney problem, either infection or kidney stone. u have to go see a doctor for antibiotics
I used to get this during my 20's, but haven't for years. It sounds like plurasy. It is an infection of the lining of the lung, the plura. Used to get it when I had little colds. Takes antibiotics to clear up. Hope this helps.
I had flank pain once, It was pain in my back but it was not back pain I found out it was flank pain which is pain in the middle of the back, At first I could not move, I laid on my back and waited , and after a while it was gone, forever, I was so concerned because it was kind of strange, so I tried to find answers and believed that it was a stone in my kidneys, looking back I think my flank pain had something to do with me doing exercise wrong, I hurt my back somehow.

Left ear hurts when I inhale from my nose only?
It just started a few hours ago. I'm gonna go to the doctor tomorrow, but I was just curious.what could it be?
Answer:
Your passages are all linked. You could have an ear infection. Go see your doctor, don't leave it. It's probably just something minor.
Do you have a sinus problem? It could also be that.Did you go to the doctor? What was the problem? Is it all good now? I hope so!Enjoy your day then!

Leeches, Scars?
Can leeches make keloids scars go way, or heal??Thanks!!
Answer:
No. Leeches drink blood, they don't eat skin. And they would prefer a spot where the skin is not so thick, so they would just move to a different spot. The best ways to reduce a keloid, without a doctor, is to use Mederma. It's available over the counter in many places. It works best on young or new scars, or in the healing phase, but will do some good even for old scars. Failing that, dermatologists use lasers to reduce them and sometimes surgery to remove and resect them if need be. There are also other scar reducing creams and ointments available by prescription. Unfortunately, there are no cheap and 100% guaranteed methods. But leeches definitely won't work.
No. Scars are a special kind of tissue, which form over a healed wound. Since leeches just drain blood and don't resurface the skin, they don't affect scar tissue. They are sometimes useful in hematomas and certain other problems. There are scar treatments ranging from creams that can fade discoloration, to laser resurfacing, to surgical "scar revision." None of these completely remove the scar tissue, but can make them less apparent.
Leeches are currently used in certain medical procedures where controlling bleeding is an important though difficult task (ex, capillaries in skin grafts).I have not heard of them being used for skin disorders, but I dont know if I would risk it - a large number of cases where leeches are used result in infection - which when you are trying to recontruct an eyelid is one thing, but for something less essential might not be worth the risk. Good Luck

LECITHIN - granules for cholesterol lowering?
Anybody got any good information regarding these granules, do they work and has anybody had proven lowering of colesterol and or lost any weight through taking them. Plus any known side effects or any known news at all! Cheers.
Answer:
Please see the web page for more details on Lecithin.
WHY would you want to?The Lipid Hypothesis is DISproven and COMPLETELY FALSE but is kept alive due to MONETARY POLITICAL AND SOCIAL FACTORS .
It has no scientific basis
INFLAMMATION causes coronary heart disease.Severe stress and elevated blood glucose- THIS is what to monitor
i know of this cholesterol lowering supplements without bad side effects that is made from a natural kind of "red yeast rice" very safe and effective...as told by some friends
What would be interesting to know is if Ashley A gets heart disease in the future, what he'll say to his Dr about it...

Lazy Eyes?
This happens to my mom too- and I don't know why, but every once in a while, one of my eyelids droops a little lower than the other. It happens to both my eyes, at different times- not just one eye. Wtf?
Answer:
This isn't really a "lazy eye"... that would be when you have one eye that doesn't point in the direction of whatever you want to look at. What you have is called a ptosis, an eyelid droop, and if your mom has it too, it's probably just due to uneven innervation by the occularmotor nerve to your eyelids, causing them to recieve different amounts of signals from your brain, especially if you're tired.PS: you do not need to go see an Opthamologist. This happens to lots of people, and is not usually an indication of a disease or eye muscle problem.
Go see an opthalmologist, not just an optometrist. You need a doctor (MD type) who can figure out what is going on.
could be an inflammation of nerves controlling facial muscles. do a search on bell's palsy. i had it for a few weeks when i was under a lot of stress and one whole side of my face was paralyzed. i had to wear an eye patch when i slept because of the drooping eyelid thing.
Also, there is a possibility for multiple sclerosis(my sister was diagnosed 3 years ago), which can often be misdiagnosed without a c-scan. She had numbness on one side of her body, mostly leg and arm. But symptoms vary greatly person to person.
Another possibility is lime disease. don't get nervous about it until you have tests done. go to the doctor and tell him/her your symptoms and request a c-scan. hope its something minor.

Answer:
I would suggest going to a doctor pronto. You could have an obstruction of some kind or other bowel problem. While you are there asked to be screened for food allergies or something called Celiac Disease.
What is Celiac Disease?Celiac disease (CD) is a genetic disorder. In people with CD, eating certain types of protein, called gluten, sets off an autoimmune response that causes damage to the small intestine. This, in turn, causes the small intestine to lose its ability to absorb the nutrients found in food, leading to malnutrition and a variety of other complications. The offending protein, gluten, is found in wheat, barley, rye, and to a lesser extent, oats (WBRO). Related proteins are found in triticale, spelt, kamut. Refer to grains and flours Glossary for a more extensive list of both safe and offending grains.
Celiac Disease is: * a genetic, inheritable disease.
* linked to genetically transmitted histocompatibility cell antigens (HLA DR3-DQ2, DR5/7 DQ2, and DR4-DQ8).
* COMMON. Approximately 1 in 133 people have CD, however, only about 3% of these have been diagnosed. This means that there are over 2.1 million undiagnosed people with celiac disease in the United States.
* characterized by damage to the mucosal lining of the small intestine which is known as villous atrophy.
* responsible for the malabsorption of nutrients resulting in malnutrition.
* linked to skin blisters known as dermatitis herpetiformis (DH).
* not age-dependent. It may become active at any age.Return to topCeliac Disease is NOT: * simply a food allergy.
* an idiosyncratic reaction to food proteins (mediated by IgE).
* typified by a rapid histamine-type reaction (such as bronchospasm, urticaria, etc.).Return to topThe Damaging ProteinsThe term "gluten" is, in a sense, a generic term for the storage proteins that are found in grains. In reality, each type of protein - gliadin in wheat, secalin in rye, hordein in barley, avenin in oats, zein in corn and oryzenin in rice - is slightly different from the others. The "gluten" in wheat, rye, barley, and in a much lower amount, oats, contains particular amino acid sequences that are harmful to persons with celiac disease. The damaging proteins are particularly rich in proline and glutamine (especially the amino acid sequences which are in the following orders: Pro-Ser-Gln-Gln and Gln-Gln-Gln-Pro). As peptides, some such as 33-MER, cannot be broken down any further. In people with celiac disease, 33-MER stimulates T-cells to produce antibodies. The antibodies, in turn, attack the villi in the small intestine, reducing their ability to absorb nutrients. It is important to note that these sequences are NOT found in the proteins of corn and rice.Return to topThe Nature of the InjuryThe damage to the small intestine (the jejunum) caused by this disease is very slow to develop and is insidious. It is: * almost certainly mediated by the immune system.
* associated with ANTIBODIES to gliadin, reticulin and/or endomysial (smooth muscle) proteins.
* probably not directly caused by the antibodies, though they may be signals for cell-mediated immunity.
* probably produced by the cellular immune system (T cells) - but only when gluten-type prolamins are present.
* reversible, in most cases, to completely normal bowel function, if the injurious protein is excluded from the diet.Return to topHow Does One "Catch" Celiac Disease?Celiac disease cannot be "caught," but rather the potential for CD may be in the body from birth. Its onset is not confined to a particular age range or gender, although more women are diagnosed than men. It is not known exactly what activates the disease, however three things are required for a person to develop CD: * A genetic disposition: being born with the necessary genes. The Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) genes specifically linked to celiac disease are DR3, DQ2 and DQ8.
* A trigger: some environmental, emotional or physical event in one鈥檚 life. While triggering factors are not fully understood, possibilities include, but are not limited to adding solids to a baby鈥檚 diet, going through puberty, enduring a surgery or pregnancy, experiencing a stressful situation, catching a virus, increasing WBRO products in the diet, or developing a bacterial infection to which the immune system responds inappropriately.
* A diet: containing WBRO, or any of their derivatives.Return to topSummaryCeliac disease is life-long and currently incurable. The only known treatment at this time is strict adherence to a gluten-free lifestyle, free of WBRO.
I would suggest going to your doctor to see if he/she can prescribe some medication that will help you go.
Your going to have to go to the Dr.
If you don't you'll poison yourself and could die.
No kidding...

it WILL work - doctor recommended !
Try eating a lot of fiber and drink water. Drinking fluids is the key to bowel movements. Also, try stool softeners if you have difficulty with BM. If you do not go within 8 days, see a doctor.
Have you tried a Fleet's enema? If you have impacted stool, laxatives will only give you a stomach ache.
I had the same thing happen to me. I went to the emergency room becasue I was scared there was something wrong. The ER prescribed a stool softner AND a laxitive. They do sell this in one pill, just ask your local pharmacist. Also, they had me do a Fleet Enema. This is one you administer your self and it is very easy. Sounds gross, but it works. The doctor in the ER took an x-ray of my stomache and intestines and my "tubes" were full so i needed the enema. They do this x-ray to look for blockages. If this doesn't work in a day , I'd go to the ER or call your doctor. Hope this helps!
If you have had this re-ocurring issue, you are not drinking enough water. I had a friend that would go for 3-4 days before having a movement. I advised her to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day and stop drinking the coffee and tea. She did and within 1 day, she was calling me and had regular movements every since then. WATER, it is a miracle.
STOP THE LAXATIVES. Laxatives can cause more problems than good. I have had 17 colon blockages from August of 2006 till January of 2007. I ended up having colitis and gastritis, both diagnosed after a colonoscopy and a endoscopic procedure. I did the laxatives and fleet enemas with no luck. I would have to be hospitalized for 3-4 days at a time, no food until the blockages would pass. I finally had a doctor who practices regular western medicine but also alternative medicine. I had to increase my water to ONE GALLON A DAY (sometimes more--a gallon and one half). Second, I increased my fiber, one tablespoon a day (do not use fiber one or Metamucil that stuff can get lodged in your colon). Try Baltone dietary fiber formula (it contains organic flax seed, psyllium seed--but it's so fine like a powder it doesn't get stuck in the wrinkles of your colon), oat fiber, apple pectin and slippery elm bark powders, natural pineapple and peppermint flavors). Then I would take Ultra InflamX it helps with lots of colon problems. I would also recommend a colonic, that really helped my colon and constipation problems. Make sure the person is certified in Hydrotherapy. My doctor was Leary at first until they saw a improvement in my colon function.
Stay away from sugary foods (they constipate), cheese, dairy, processed foods. Try oat bran rather than oatmeal it produces bulk in your colon.
My colonic specialist also made me buy a stool to set my feet on when I go to the bathroom. When your knees are elevated above your hips it makes stools pass easier (weird but it works). Also don't strain to go you can develop diverticulitis from doing so (I did). I read a magazine to keep me from straining on the toilet and it works. Also sit on the toilet at the same time every day even if you don't poo. It trains your colon believe it or not. I know how awful you feel physically. I would get head aches, joint pain and muscle soreness from all the toxins building up in my body from the constipation.
Please follow a few if not all my recommendations. I know from personal experience. Any questions, don't hesitate to email me. Please, drink the gallon of water, if anything do that. Buy the pre-package gallon containers. That way you know that you certainly drank that gallon for the day. Also drinking a 8oz. glass every five mins. until you poo works. Relax on the toilet. Good luck my friend.
Laundry detergent Allergy...?
I recently started using Sun detergent because it is very cost effective and we are kinda tight on money. I started getting a red itchyness all over my body. I noticed it two days ago and it is pretty itchy. I wash my body many times in the shower to make sure it is not a bug or something, but the itchies just stay. I think i am allergic to the detergent because when I wore a pair of pants that had not been washed in the Sun it was not any More ichy than before. How can I make my itchies feel better tonight so I do not feel like ripping off my skin?
Answer:
i feel for you i have to buy everything the is "free and clear" i cant have dyes or perfumes because i will break out. try taking some benedryl it will help with the itches
You could take an antihistamine, as well as an Oatmeal bath (Aveeno has some oatmeal bath for itching).Until you get other laundry soap, try re-rinsing the clothes a second time in the wash.

Latex allergy? i have hives?
my dad put on plastic sheets on my bed and i was sleeping on them but i have spina bifida so i can have allergic reactions to latex. and i had dots on the back of my hands and now about 5 days later there everywhere except my face. what do i do?
Answer:
It may be that the plastic sheet is holding too much heat against your body causing you to sweat and not allowing your skin to breath properly.
go to the doctor or take some banadryl till you can get to the doc
I doubt there is latex in the plastic sheet on your bed. You need to see a doc to find out what is causing your rash.
Take the sheets off the bed. Take a long soak in the tub to remove any traces of offending allergen. Put hydro-cortisone cream all over affected areas and take benadryl. If it's not getting better in a couple days see your Dr.

Latest update on Global treatment of AIDS?
What has happened since 2004 on the situation between pharmaceutical companies and treatment of AIDS in poor countries? Are there any patents issues?
Looking forward for your answers?
Answer:
"The field of vaccine development today is shaped as much by philanthropy as by competitive market interests, global institutional arrangements of intellectual property rights, patents, scientific capacities (or the lack thereof), and the interests of investors and shareholders." Which leaves little interest in the rest of us. Don't ya think?
Mostly, it is still a grim story. The HIV treatments (combination therapies) that work are expensive and there is limited distribution of these treatments to poor countries. The pharmaceutical manufacturers have made some efforts to make the drugs available on a limited basis, but not a lot of effort. Their main concern is still profit. The countries are poor so they are not in a position to negotiate favorable rates for their people.HIV and AIDS continue to spread in poor countries.

Eat a Chicago-style pizza which is a specific variety of pizza. Pizza is traditionally considered to be a type of hearth cake such as focaccia. The Chicago-style pizza shares more in common with a casserole, such as lasagna. True Chicago-style pizza, a unique deep dish variety, features a buttery crust-cheese-chunky tomato sauce construction. There is some confusion between deep-dish and "stuffed" and "pan" pizzas, but it is for the deep-dish style that Chicago is most famous
Last question on BIO HW. Only answer if knowledgable.?
In metabolically active tissue you would expect?
A.the precent saturation of hemoglobin will be less than it is near the lungs.
B.the partial pressure of O2 will be hight than in the alveoli
C.the ph will be slightly higher than it is inthe fluid close to the lungs.
D.the partial pressure of CO2 will be at its lowest point.
E.All are correct.
I know it should curve to the right, Pco2 would rise so C would be wrong. This is my last question for hw need help!
Answer:
The correct answer is A.In metabolically active tissue you would expect oxygen to be vigorously extracted from hemoglobin and its saturation to be lower than near the lungs where it is "freshly" loaded with oxygen...By the way, the question is badly stated and I am almost sure that the person who wrote it doesn't not have deep knowledge of human physiology; I chose A because the rest are definitely wrong although even A is not a very accurate statement.

Lasik / lasek / vision correction question?
maybe a dr or someone very familiar with this help me out.i think my prescription is +9.75 it maybe lower i dont know, i will have to check.I also have a astigmatisim i dont think its to bad i dunno.i wear soft toric contact lens, i can see pretty well.what are my options for lasik/lasek / whatever other form of vision correction.I am located in USA, from my own little research it almost as whoever has the best toys can help you the most.I am sure this stuff cost thousands and thousands, so i would expect all doctors dont upgrade everytime something comes out.But whats the newest stuff and is there anything to help me at the moment? If not anything looking bright in the near future, im 19 money is not really an issue here, just trying to get the best possible outcome and see if its possible.Man i wish had eagle eyes!
Answer:
Your Facts: Prescription of +9.75 and 19 years of age. If the prescription is correct, you are a very high hyperope. None of the current lasers have been approved to treat this high level of hyperopia. Attempting to treat such high hyperopia with any laser technique (LASIK or LASEK) will almost surely cause severe unacceptable complications.Difference between LASIK and LASEK:
LASIK is lamellar laser refractive surgery in which the excimer laser ablation is done under a partial-thickness lamellar corneal flap.
In LASEK procedure the excimer laser is used to ablate the most anterior portion of the corneal stroma. LASEK does not require a partial thickness cut into the stroma.
you don't say how old you are
If you are 50+ you may want to just wait till you have cataracts and they will correct your vision then
well now that you are 19 you can make decisions for yourself. If money is no problem fly to the East Coast(New Jersey/New York) and get it done here. Best of the Best eye docs are on this side of the apple. i would do lasik. its pain free and they do it within 20 minutes.beats having cataracts later on in life.

Laser treatment cancer of the windpipe?
Answer:
This is an effective treatment option for early stage cancer of the windpipe or esophagus. Here is additional info. I'd get the treatment done as quickly as possible before the cancer has time to spread. http://www.mayoclinic.org/photodynamic-t...http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/facts...http://www.cancer.org/docroot/cri/conten...
Don't know any thing about this but laser treatment is effective these days and used a lot.Try a NHS site for a bit of knowledge.
Larynx cancer??HELP! BOOGEYWOOGY?
I posted a question earlier and I am wondering some more things. My moms boyfriend has had been diagnosed with larynx cancer, he does not know the stage, but knows it is only the size of a marble on the larynx. Is this serious and what are chances of survival? He has had white objects scraped from his nose which came up as cancer then later not cancer. Got that removed and also a small part of his tounge was removed that was cancerous. He had a small thing is his upper shoulder which wasnt cancerous but removed and has a tumor in his lower back that is not cancerous. The doctors do not want to remove because it is to close to his spine and discs. Can anyone tell me anything??
Answer:
well a larynx is your vocal cords...so, is he having trouble talking? Maybe he's just losing his voice in a very serious way in which he may never get it back but just pray for a mircale that he will be ok
anytime you have cancer it is serious ..i have breast cancer that turned into bone cancer..

Larynx cancer??
My mothers boyfriend has larynx cancer and so she says it has spread in other parts like his neck lower back nose... She told me he is in a pretty late stage but i have not noticed any changes in his voice. Can someone tell me everything about larynx cancer and what the chances of survival he will have? Is he gonna live? Thanks
Answer:
It is possible to have laryngeal cancer without changes in the voice. It does not always affect the vocal cords, as there are other structures in and around the larynx which can be involved..
Because he has metastases, surgery is not an option. The possibility for survival is poor, sad to say. Chemotherapy will prolong his life, but not by much.
All I know is that usually with this cancer the person ends up with a hole in their throat (tracheotomy). Not too pretty to see. If it is in the late stages, I don't know if he will survive. Best wishes.
If they do surgery, I have a feeling it will not be a pretty picture, but you have to do what the oncologist says to survive.Only the oncologist can tell him for sure how it will go, but it doesn't sound good when you say late stage.

Larynx cancer ?? Help dont answer if you dont know!?
Answer:
It's really hard to answer your questions without knowing what stage the cancer is at, because that impacts heavily on the treatment he will recieve and the suvivability. If it is early stage, he may not require surgery at all. They can opt to treat it with radiation, or radiation and chemotherapy. In the more advanced stages, surgury may be required. How invasive that is depends again on how invasive the tumor is and how advanced it is. Usually they try to remove as little of the larynyx as possible, removing only a vocal cord if possible and trying to avoid having to remove the entire larynx. In early stage cancer, the treatment sucess rate, for cooperative patients, is nearly 90%. In more advanced stages, the rates can drop. The doctors will work very closely with him to determine what kind of treatment would be best for him, and that is pretty individually determined. There are support groups through the treatment centers that can provide him and your family with the answers you will need and support you will need to help get through this. It's not the most deadly if caught and treated early. Even if his entire larynx is removed, people do continue to live long lives afterwards and learn to speak with the aid of an external device to mimic the vocal cords. It's not perfect, but it is doable. From the sounds of things, you are still somewhat shell shocked from the news, and frightened very badly by the "C" word. While it's not something to be taken lightly, by any means, it is not necessarily a death sentence. Wait to panic until you have a lot more information. Right now, you need a positive outlook. Whatever comes, comes. Deal with it one thing at a time, and you will get through it. Find a cancer support group near you, as soon as you can. The doctor who diagnosed the problem should be able to put you in touch with one, or the local hospital should know. Or you can look in the Yellow Pages, or even do an online search for groups near you. There are also plenty of support groups online as well. That way, you can hear from people who have had the same problem, and can help you get through this.
Only his doctor knows for sure. No body on this board is going to be qualified to diagnose the condition of someone they have never even met.
Try WebMD.com. You have to sign on but it's a great site full of info.
The only help I can give is a link to a website:
http://www.medicinenet.com/larynx_cancer...Good luck :)
You should contact the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. They will have all the answers you need.
Cancer is a hard call to make. The link is the University of Maryland Medical and give you some insight into "Laryngeal Cancer".
http://www.umm.edu/ency/article/001042.h...
Here they speak more of removing and you may learn some things. Also, under support group are a few links where you may be able to get more specific advise to your question.
I will assume if the Doctors feel it more dangerous to the "Spine and Discs" they must feel the cancer is not of concern at this time. I can not speak for a doctor, but, if the cancer was life threatening it be more important to remove/treat than a spinal injury during the process.
He could get a second opinion and if you try the links on the site (One is the American Cancer Society) they may give some references in your local area for a second opinion.
This all I can say, as mentioned Cancer a hard call for someone on here. Some people live a normal life with no problems.

Laryngitis question?
I was diagnosed yesterday with Laryngitis and Bronchitis..and I was wondering if you knew when my voice was going to come back or if theres anything I can do to make it stop hurting..it's in so much pain..and I got medcation for it..but it's just in so much pain and I need to know of any home remedies I can use to make this intense pain go away..
Answer:
The less you talk the easier it is for the laryngitis to be fought by your body. Drink warm lemon honey tea. Drinking cold water or sucking on ice can help too.
Tylenol, Aspirin.Cepocol (lozenges)...quit talking...try not to cough too hard ( yeah I know...) and drink warm/hot drinks...
Warm salt water rinse works the best.especially when ya do it right before you go to bed at night you will at least get to sleep for awhile unless you wake up in the middle of the night for something then just do it again.Just put like 2-3 tablespoons in like 6 ounces of water...small glass. then go in and gargle for as long as you can til the water is gone. It is soothing to the throat for some reason. That's what my Dr always says too. but just before bed is so you don't drink water after.I know it may be salty but trust me it works really good. and it is free and cheap to do. I hope you feel better soon. During the day lots of Popsicles is what i did and ice and lotsa water.COLD COLD Water! But as warm as you can take in the gargle stuff. Then ya spit it out by the way ya don't need to swallow but it wont hurt you either.Don't make it to hot that you burn yourself just real warm. AHHHHHH! then sleep. And each time you drink something and your throat hurts just do it again. You should do it at least three four times a day. Bu it always made sure I at least do it at bedtime. Then I go to sleep before it wears off. I hope it helps you. Get Well Quick! God Bless!
I had laryngitis last week. A spoonful of honey from time to time helped me, as well as constantly sucking sweets. Also I took Strepsils. You must be patient and try not to talk. My voice returned after 4 days. Good luck and hope you get better soon!

I had gastric bypass surgery in April 2005. I started out at 268, now I鈥檓 180 and holding. These links will help you in many ways to make a decision if this is for you or not. I vote yes, because it made such a difference in my life. I was taking 8 pills a day, and after my surgery, I lost my diabetes. The way they do the surgery, takes your diabetes away. I no longer have to take glucophage, and I no longer have high Cholesterol or high blood pressure. I鈥檓 down to 2 pills a day. I went from a size 26-28 to a 16-18.

You just can鈥檛 find a better surgeon than him! He鈥檚 probably done at least 500 of the surgeries, so far. I did so well after my surgery, I thank him every time I see him.
I made it to 175! It's been almost 2 years since my surgery. I haven't had any complications at all with my surgery! My health has been very good, and I've lost the weight nice and slow, so my body doesn't look that much out of shape. I've been faithfully taking my vitamins, and my blood work came back excellent! I still think very highly of Dr. Pilkington, and would recommend to anyone thinking of this surgery, to have Dr. Pilkington as his or her surgeon. I'm walking proof, that he is an excellent doctor. I just spoke to another patient of his who told me she had a very good experience with him, and she is in excellent health, as well. He is a very caring doctor. I live in Florida in the winter. I see alot of folks down there because of my job, and I see people from all over the USA and overseas. Since my surgery, I've talked to lots of others that have had the surgery in Florida, and some of them didn't do as well, and I tend to think it's because their doctors weren鈥檛 as competent as mine. I feel that part of how you do, is because of your general health and attitude. The other major part is how good your doctor is.

I had Texas Blue Cross and they paid for my LapBand surgery. I live in Arkansas and had Lap Band surgery in Texarkana. My doctors, Dr. Ron Hekier, and Dr. Rachael Keilin have several people in their office that help with the cost of Lap Band surgery.
Texas Blue Cross required the following for me:
6 month history of medical weight loss, meaning that I was on a diet plan by my doctor.
Check out my doctors website at www.noscales.com
5 year weight loss history, meaning medical notes documenting my overweight status for 5 years.
Psychological evaluation.
Good luck.

L-Lysine,L-Methionine,L-Phenyl...
Are there any natural sources for all of them and what is their destination.
Which one potect from Cancer?
Answer:
all meats, eggs, milk are a natural source of all these amino acids. With whole egg being the best and whey protein isolate being the next best. Proteins are catergorized by thier BV bioavailablity to the body. Egg has 100 that means if you eat a whole egg it is 100 percent digestible and absorbable in the body. Next is Whey protien which is what most body buildiers use because of low cholesterial and the bodydoesn't have to break the food down it is pure amino acids. Next is fish then chicken and last is beef with about 60 percet BV. I have been doing a lot of research on these acids for a while. they all have purpose and job and they are all differnt sizes. Some acids are realy big and some are small and the big ones get top priority leaving small ones like tryptophan crying alone. Tryptophan is realy improtnat cause it creates serotonin which makes melatonin the drug that makes you sleep. without you can get depressed and cranky and have sleep problelms. Arginine is good for hte heart cause it makes nitrous oxide it also create growht hormone. http://users.mrbean.net.au/~wlast/hf3-4.
that site will give you alot of information. some do protect against cancer and some taken alone can cuse cancer like aspartame which is EQAUL and phylanine which is also in EQUAL. There is no problem when eating htem together like if whole foods but problelms cand result when eating thme alone.

L have a problem with inyongo and udenda (l dont know these in English). ls it related with diabetis?

Answer:
You have to totally see a doctor. Since you don't know what those words mean, not much help from this site you could get. But definitely, no more time to waste . go seek help from the professional. I know that our immune system is really badly hurt by high blood sugar in our blood that is not controlled. When a person has diabetes, any food is not a good thing to eat, though a diabetic person has to eat like other human being. What's best for diabetic people is just to eat small portion of food that is not cooked with oil so that that their cholesterol will be also controlled. Fruits and vegetables are best to eat because fruits has no animal fat and doesn't need to be cooked and with a lot of fiber in it. Vegetables are good too, although some has sugar and carbohydrates in it but it's better than rice (whatever kind).
Although it is very dangerous to ask medical advice on open forums like this, there are some symptoms of diabetes. Of course only a doctor can tell you for sure. The 'inyongyo' (bile) and 'udenda' (dribbling) may indicate other things. The problem of being nauseated while eating sweet things and the slow healing of wounds is symptomatic of Type 2 diabetes. If you are urinating a lot an unusually thirsty, these are other signs.Again, you should see a doctor, as untreated diabetes can be can cause all kinds of problems, including blindness.

KOX +ve/-ve?
Can someone explain what this biochemical test is and what it is used for as well as the postive and negative results please. Thanks for your help.
Answer:
Hi - I've never heard of a KOX test. Did you have this test done? There's a KOH test...could that be it? I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful! If you have any questions about any other lab tests, I think this site - http://www.labtestsonline.org/ - is great!
------------------------------...
Well, i have 2 ideas here, and they may both be completely wrong. Could KOX = oxidase reaction test? This can help further idenitfy gram-negative non-motile organisms. Klebsiella and Shigella will result in a negative oxidase reaction. Neisseria spp would have a positive oxidase reaction, but I would imagine that looking in a microscope to see cocci vs rods would be easier in identifying those. Pseudomonas would also have a positive oxidase reaction.
The other possibility is OX-K, which is a Proteus antigen that can also be used to distinguish between Rickettsial spp. Random, but true!
I couldn't find KOX speficially, but I'm thinking you have more information than I do. :) Good luck.

Korsacoffs syndrome?
Does anyone know thw difference between korsacoffs syndrome and wernekes encalopathy
Answer:
Korsacoffs is a progression of Wernekes encephalopathy. It starts as a B1 defficiency, usually due to alcoholism. While Wernekes includes nystagmus (rapic alternating saccade of the eyes), ataxia (movements that lack fine control and ability to correct movement, confusion and apathy, Korsacoffs includes learning and memory deficits out of proportion to other cognitive deficits.
Both are generally related to chronic alcoholism. Try www.emedicine.com

Hello! I'm glad that you found my answer useful. It certainly is frustrating when you can't do the things you want to do - especially when you were once able to do them yourself! I found this site: http://www.dynamic-living.com/roll-on-lo... This site also has a cool back scrubber: http://www.dynamic-living.com/curved-bac...
In addition to being a Pilates instructor, I'm also a recreational therapist that has worked with individuals with physical disabilities. I hope that the items I've mentioned are helpful to you.

Know of any healthy crunchy food?
So, Im somewhat a recovering anorexic. I still have a bad eating disorder. I went from only eating yogurt and cottage cheese for 6 months, to now eating boxes and boxes of special K cereal. At most 3 boxes a day plus other junk! According to Oprah, Im a cruncher, I like foods that crunch! I need to find a healthy lowcal low fat low anything that I can eat. Extremely desperate, thanks
Answer:
Veggies: carrots, celery, most raw vegetables
Protein: nuts, soy nuts, peanuts
Fruit: apple
Carbs: corn chips, rice cakes, popcorn, most boxed cereals %26 granolasI will add more as I think of it.For the health of your teeth I would suggest you follow all carbs with some crunchy vegetables, if you can't brush right away. Carbs stick to your teeth but veggies help scrub it off.
what about carrotts cucumbers lettuce cabbage apples pears granola crackers baked chips pretzils
~Celery and carrot sticks
~Edamame (soy pods)
~Sugar snap peas
~pita chips (higher in fat, but, still decent in calories)

Know anyone with emphasema?
my family member just got diagnosed...
Answer:
Emphysema is a condition in which the walls between the alveoli or air sacs within the lung lose their ability to stretch and recoil. The air sacs become weakened and break. Elasticity of the lung tissue is lost, causing air to be trapped in the air sacs and impairing the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Also, the support of the airways is lost, allowing for airflow obstruction.Symptoms of emphysema include shortness of breath, cough and a limited exercise tolerance. http://www.lungusa.org/site/apps/s/conte...
I've had patients with emphysema. There's a ton of information on the web, just make sure you spell it correctly.
Unfortunately I do. My elder sister has it, as does her son.
yup me 33% lung function
02 PRN
Yes, my husband had emphysema. Hope your family member quits smoking (if they do smoke). Tell the person to stay away from any kind of smoke...cigarette, fireplaces, etc.
and chemical smells as they can trigger a difficult breathing episode. Emphysema is affected, in a negative way, when there is a change in the weather. Drink lots of water, eat right and sleep enough. Those things help all of us but emphysema patients can't recoup from some illnesses as quickly as healthy people do. I wish your family member well.
I treat people with emphysema, you can live a long time, all according to how well you take care of yourself.

Knots just below my ankle and a swollen ankle what could it be?
I am a 24 year old female. I found knots in my ankle last year and finally went to the doctor in January 07 sent me to an orthopedic surgeon and he gave me a steroid shot. Then two weeks later he gave me a brace to wear for 3 weeks and then wean myself off of it. And if I felt better not to bother coming back. Well I didn't go back. A month and a half later I woke up with a swollen ankle about the size of an apple. I have had no injury that I know of. The doctor at urgent care did a rheumatoid arthritis test and sedimentary test and an ana test. Everything came back negative but the inflammation test was 36 and should have been between 0-10. I wake up with no swelling and it swells throughout the day. Does anyone have any ideas?
Answer:
Not all forms of Arthritis will reveal auto-antibodies like ana test. ESR is the inflammatory test and that is 36, so something is going on. Return to the Doc and see what they have to say.

Knee problems...need some advice?
i just wanted advice from others who have had knee problems. ive been to the dr and had xrays done and there is a problem with my kneecap slipping out and it feels at time that my leg is giving way on me. im on pain medication and i just keep going back to the dr who just says, try a brace, try an ointment in case its ligiment damage, try exercise ( strange when i can hardly walk).when im laying down, i can raise my right leg high up but my left leg with the knee problems i cant raise 2 inches without pain. what i want to know is, why cant i raise my leg and why am i in so much pain?this is driving me insane as i feel like a drug addict asking for pain killers all the time. i normally only get 20 and taking 2 four times a day means they dont even last three days.can anyone offer me advice either on pain relief or what might be the problem. much appreciated...
Answer:
Sounds like the problem is a subluxing patella (unstable knee cap). You cannot lift your leg because it requires a strong contraction of your quad muscle and your quad shuts down whenever there is a knee problem. What you need is physical therapy supervised by a physical therapist. Its the only thing that can solve the problem without surgery. You can use a brace to stabilize your knee cap in the short term but even when healed the knee cap will be unstable and the problem will still exist. Physical therapy will help you strengthen the appropriate muscles. If your doctor will not send you to physical therapy find a new doctor.
Did you go to an orthopedic doctor...might be a good idea...
Sounds like me. I actually was holding my new born child when my knee gave out from a slight step down outdoors and my knee went out for no apparent reason. Pain? Couldn't bend it, couldn't straighten it, nothing. Stuck in one position.
I did go to Dr.'s and basically they had told me that my ligaments were torn many years ago, and that they healed improperly. For years I have problems of the knee cap slipping out. I found that if I sit on a chair or countertop which my legs can hang freely, put my good leg behind the bad leg and taking the good leg pushing against the bad, using the bad leg to counterforce the push, strengthens the tissues and muscles for the knee. I am using Glucosamine HCI 1500mg once a day, it does WONDERS. My dad uses it too, but with pain reliever with it. Try it! Takes about 4 weeks to see and feel a differance.

Knee and hip pain?
48 yr. old gal. Works out - knee hurts getting up, walking up/down stairs, rising from chair. Feels like it's going to collapse. Hurts outside lateral, radiates up leg to sciatica, when I've been on it all day. Help!
Answer:
Sound to me as if you have been overdoing the exercise. You are now entering the DDD or degenerative disc disease time of your life where the disc in your spine are dehydrating. The fact you have sciatica makes me suspect you might have a disc problem. I suggest you see a Doc asap.
I have bulging discs and the symptoms, well I went to my Doc with pain somewhere between my waist and knees. The hips and knee x-rays were normal, started Lyrica for neuropathy and then had the MRI found the Disc problems. Good Luck
So is it bone pain, nerve pain or musce pain? I recommend going to your doctor or orthopedist for a series of x-rays to make sure nothing more serious is going on.
They told us in med school that hip disease can cause knee pain, and vice-versa. You need a good orthopedic evaluation. Any benefit you get from this space is more luck than science.

Kindey problem, a cause of hair loss?
is it?
Answer:
Your question is not at all clear so I have no idea what you really want to know but, yes, kidney disease can cause hair loss though it is not common. Usually, hair loss is not seen until the patient is in kidney failure.

Kind of queezy?
For the last like year i've felt just "not healthy" i have reoccuring nausea, headaches, and a just general feeling of blah. I've been to the doctors multiple times complaining about one or another symptom but i've gotten all sorts of tests and they can't find anything wrong with me. I feel sickest right after waking up, and when im hungry. I've been told i'm slightly hypoglycemic but i can't imagine that would be causing all of my ailments. I also have anxiety, could this all be from stress? since i started taking the anti-depressant effexor i've felt a little better but the queezyness remains. Now im not saying im sick all the time i just don't feel HEALTHY. I eat well and exercise daily. Has anyone else had an on-going queezyness feeling? If so please tell me what was causing it and what you did to fix it! MUCH appreciated. and sorry i ranted so long about it, im not very good at explaining things. Thanks so much. -sammie

Do you by any chance have nasal allergies?Warning: some people find this kind of gross. What can happen is something called post-nasal drip, and basically, your nose gets so full of mucus from allergies or even a cold, that it has nowhere to go but down the back of your throat. So you get this kind of sticky mucus stuck in your esophagus or the top of your stomach, and it can make you feel sick, especially first thing in the morning. Then throughout the day, you can get sort of a plug of it right in the back of your throat that makes you gag. Usually controlling the allergy makes it stop. If you think htis is what's going on, try a good allergy medication like Claritin or Zyrtec, and ask your doctor if a nasal spray might be right for you.
Gee - i hope You feel better soon. several yrs. ago- i felt queezyness for 3 mo's; never knew WHY! BUT i took Pepto-Bismol once or twice per da. %26 that helped somewhat!;
I was and still Am a very nervous person. Pepto-bismol contains aspirin (sal.???)
can't think how ya spell that word that means aspirin OR contains it---do PLEASE USE WITH CAUTION ! and children %26 young adults should NOT use aspirin. Doc told my daughter recently that he won't even use Pepto bismol himself and he's about 30 or older! CHECK WITH your Doc before using aspirin or the Pepto bismol.. Best wishes!
lady in my mid 50's from GA./ usa.
To Avoid pills..
Try talking to a Massage Therapist.
Your homeostasis is probably out of wack...
And Try talking to a doctor about a detox/cleasing.
When taking perscriptions they leave traces behind which cause other problems.
Good luck...

Kids, Asthma, bees, asprin?
My wife and I have 2 kids...one from both of us..the other from her previous relationship
My wife is highly allergic to bees...what is the chances that our kids could be allergic?
Also...What are the chances that my son having asthma and being allergic to asprin(I have asthma and am allergic to aspring and can only take tylenol )?
My son does a lot of weezing..and I dont know if I should worry about that?
Answer:
well, they say that the children can and may not have the asthma, im an asthmatic and my daughters dr didnt want to test her for asthma either so i took her to my astthma dr, pulmanologist and her checked and nobout she has it. sometimes you just have to step aside of the ped and find qnother dr. the risk is bout 50 50 for the kids having allergies and asthma...my daughter has the asthma but she does not have the allergies but i have both...pretty bad allergies and serve to chronic asthma, i suggest you get a second opinion.
If you're worried about the bee allergy, go to the allergist and have them tested. I had asthma as a young child and it came back right after I had taken some pain pills for a urinary tract infection as an adult(aspirin was the ingredient). Dr.'s do not recommend giving aspirin to children until they're around 14 or 15 because of the risk of Reye's Syndrome when they use it. And if your child is wheezing, you need to get him to an ER...You have asthma and it sounds odd to me that you don't recognize that he could be suffering ...If he's wheezing, it's an emergency if you're not treating it!!!Re: extra info you provided. Get another Dr. if he's not listening. If you have insurance and he starts wheezing, take him to the ER, please instead of his dr. If he's actually seen while he's wheezing a diagnosis can be made at least while he's having difficulty. It may be your Dr. hasn't seen the symptoms and therefore he's reluctant to diagnose. Some Dr.'s simply don't listen and you have to keep insisting there's something wrong or find another dr. Best wishes!
Try antioxidant supplements such as OPC-3.People might question "Can antioxidants help asthma?" According to Jack Challem in his article, Natural Health, the evidence is promising. Supplemental vitamin C (2 g daily) and large doses of beta carotene (64 mg daily) eased exercise-induced asthma in some people, according to recent Israeli studies. The theory is that high levels of free radicals are found in people with asthma, and free radicals promote an inflammatory reaction, which closes breathing passages. (Talk to your doctor before taking this high dose of beta carotene.) Antioxidants may also increase resistance to lung damage by air pollution. In a study of street workers in Mexico City, one of the world's most polluted cities, daily supplements of vitamin E (75 IU), vitamin C (650 mg), and beta carotene (15 mg) improved lung function, according to a 1998 study in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.OPC-3 are powerful antioxidants. Studies have shown OPCs to be up to 20 times more powerful than vitamin C and 50 times more powerful than vitamin E. Scientists believe that antioxidants make a difference in boosting the immune system, mitigating the allergic reaction, reducing the production of histamine, and supporting a health inflammatory response in the body. None of the antioxidants are intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, but they help to boost our immune system. Overall, our body is the greatest gift from God to defend all the diseases! Note: Since OPC-3 contains grape seed extract, red wine extract, pine bark extract, bilberry extract, and citrus extract, please consult with your doctor to make sure they don't create any allergy reaction to your family members.
