Hi.. Im 17 and i convinced my mother to let me get my lip peirced the day after school lets out. I really want to get it done but Im scared Im going to have an ugly scar on my face if I decide to take it out like a year after or, if i have no choice to take it out for school or work... so if you could tell me how much of a scar it leaves that would be great, and if you want you can tell me how much it hurts to get it peirced. thanks! and yea this is a third time posting this because the typos i made were horrible %26gt;.%26lt;

It depends on which lips you are talking about. Concerning the lips on your face, you can pick placement of the ring. If you put it on your lip, up by your nose, sure, that will leave a very visable scar. If you put it on the line that connects the lip to skin, where the two colors meet, and you do not pull on it or put big nails in the hole, then that scar will not be very noticable. You can also try ways of covering up the scar. For girls, lipstick. For guys, facial hair. As for the other lips, any peirceing can be mistaken for an STD. So beware.

Any piercing you remove will leave a scar. Everyone is different.
Don't do it. That looks nasty. Pierce something else like your belly button.
Yes it will leave a permant scar that looks sorta like a sunken in hole. in other words the scar sorta looks like its still pierced even though its healed over. It's not a super ugly scar but you will have a small scar if you decide to let it heal.
